Sometimes discovering something so awesome, but finding out its too late is one of the worst feelings in the world. Yesterday, art/illustration inspired apparel company, Shirt.Woot featured a bitchin’ t-shirt that mashed up three things I love. Those three things are zombies, vampires, and robots (who doesn’t love zombies, vampires, and robots). Unfortunately, the shirt was sold out before I came across the design and this lead into weeping. Due to the fact that I was floored by the illustration, I did some digging to find out who designed this lovely piece. This incredible illustration, named “Zombie Vampire Robots from Space!” was beautifully created by Benjamin Douglass. Benjamin is a full time professional designer and illustrator and he does projects for various companies for advertisement and marketing campaigns, however his personal illustrations are the most creative and humourous. I always feared about a robot invasion or a zombie apocalypse enslaving the human race, but thanks to Mr. Douglass, now I fear zombie vampire robots from space. Hopefully, this won’t be the first and only design from Ben featuring zombies, vampires, and robots.
I wannttt…. Brrraaaiiiinnnnnsssss… and a hangover.
Halloween is upon us and most you are pretty busy getting your Halloween parties stacked with the right goodies for your guests. Why not play on the Halloween theme and serve your guests some gruesome brains shots. This slurpin’ delight is really simple to make that should prove to be a hit with your friends. Zombie are the shit right now (right behind vampires… stupid Twilight) and for those of you that can’t stomach the idea of eating real brains, why not just drink it. The shot is pretty simple as it is primarily vodka (I prefer Belvedere), but the tricky part is the key component which is the brain tissues floating in the shot. The “Brains Shot” was the creation of Dan Goss of Downtown Grill and Brewery located in Knoxville, Tennessee. Apparently, the foundation of the drink is vodka mixed with acidic lime juice. With the use of a small straw (preferably a thin straw), all you have to do is drop in a small amount of Bailey’s Irish Crème into the vodka/lime juice mixture. The Bailey’s Irish Crème when added curdles into cortical gyri-like substance that looks like a chunks of brain tissue. As an extra bonus, splash some grenadine into the shot to give off the effect of blood and there you have it! I want to see tequila pull that shit off!
Hit the jump to see the recipe to creating “Brains Shots”. Good luck!
Getting you geared up and in the mood for the Geek Girls Network Zombie Week! There will be a virtual battle with the horde on twitter, guest bloggers with zombie-themed posts, and lots of swag to win! In the mean time, check this out the totally pwntastic dancing zombie taco, above.
For those of you that find yourself in a situation where you don’t have a med-pack on you while shooting up the undead time and time again, this shirt’s for you! The creative minds at ThinkGeek have designed a cool “Zombie Survival Medical Kit” t-shirt. Just when you think you are about to be over run by a horde of zombies and your health is dangerously low, it would be nice to know you have your trusty med-pack on your back. Whether it is for you or your zombie apocalypse surviving teammate, your med-pack can be the determining factor on whether you kill zombies or become one. Just don’t waste it on that one guy on your team that tends to lag behind and get everyones killed. Just let that dumbass die. I wonder if there’s a poncho with Molotov cocktails printed on it. Hummm….
Get it at ThinkGeek.com (Dudes/The Ladies) for $18.99. A small price to pay to keep a zombie from sucking out your brain like it a grape through a coffee straw. /slurp!
For those that are interested in keeping your business alive after a massive zombie invasion, starting baking these little gems. Cater to the undead masses with these “Brains for Zombies” cupcakes. They will be dying for more. (heheheh… damn I’m so lame…)
I would love to try one, but I’m afraid I might like it… That’s how it starts you know.
