Garments made of the scales of fallen Zora warriors. They let you breathe and swim in water but are weak against fire and ice.

DeviantArt-ist Zoroko showed all the cosplay noobs at Ohayocon (a popular anime/manga convention in Cleveland, Ohio) how a real Zelda costume is done. Zoroko chose Link’s Zora Armor from Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. Zoroko decked herself out with the full Zora armor including the Zora tunic and flipper. Don’t think ya can just go down to the store or King Zora’s grave to pick up one for yourself. Like the true uber cosplayer Zoroko is, she designed and crafted the whole costume by hand.

In the end I never really kept track of the final amount, but I estimate this costume cost at least $300. Each part took a good amount of time-I would say that the helmet was probably the most difficult out of the entire costume. It was interesting trying to get the helmet to fit comfortably and get it to stay on my head without any problems (lots and lots of hidden velcro!). The hat is filled with poly-fill to give it a more full overall look.

For those of ya that is content with the cardboard sword wrapped in aluminum foil, I hate you. Zoroko, on the other hand, I adore. Great job!

Papercrafter Haywan may be the greatest papercraft artist of all time as he designed and constructed a life-size papercraft figure of Link from Zelda. Link was made of 831 different pieces that was printed on 197 sheets of paper.

Haywan was also kind enough to supply the plans for you to download if you wished to make one yourself. Along with the regular link, Haywan also provides plans to construct other variations of Link such as the Dark Link and Fierce Diety Link. Along, with the plans, Haywan also has videos of how he built it (it is a bit confusing, but brilliants none the less.

I can only wonder whether Haywan has plans to designing a papercraft Zelda to go along with Link. If I were ever able to successfully build one for myself (which is highly doubtful), I would strap the sucker onto the hood of my car and drive it around town. Of course, I would have to figure out how to protect it from rain and bird crap. Hit the jump for close up pictures of Haywan’s creation!
