wolverinebatmen

Hummm… Very interesting indeed… I am faced with the tough decision of deciding what exactly it could be. Found on @kimmi_page’s tumblr page “The Kessel Run (in 11 parsecs)“. Before I read the text, I saw a pretty cool looking illustration of Wolvie. It wasn’t until after reading, I noticed the two Bat men doing eskimo kisses. Which is it? Wolverine or two Bat men? I’m going with two Bat men sharing a kiss at sunset. I wish it would be Wolvie as well, but I don’t remember the fur ball having a nose like Gonzo from the Muppets in the shape of a harpoon.

SHOCK!!! something-something-something…

When the X-Men Animated series (not Evolution or Wolvie and the X-Men) was set to air in Japan, it seems that Japan didn’t really like the opening much. Apparently, they took it upon themselves to make their opening sequence. I’m not sure whether it was the flying attack sequence between Wolverine and Omega Red or the armada of flying cyborgs or the fact that the X-Men blasts out of an volcano like the Red Tyrannosaurus Megazord, I am really digging the sequence. The original cartoon opening had a better song, but the Japanese version fit the opening perfectly. Felt like I was listening to Metallica for a second.

“CRRRRRYYY FOOORRRR THHHEEEE MOOOOOONNNNNNN!!!”

flatness is god.

I think is it is pretty common feature now on igeektrooper to spotlight the work of some very talented artists. This this around, it is my turn and I wanted to feature an artist I have been following for couple years now. Known as belldandies (aka. adi.s.) on DeviantArt, belldandies is a brilliant graphic arts who work features vector-style graphics with simple (but deep) color schemes. Unfortunately, even after hours and hours of searching, there is very information about who belldandies actually is. Other than the fact that he resides in San Francisco, the rest is pretty much a mystery.  Some of the most popular work he has done is based on comic and sci-fiction characters. He has given characters such as G.I. Joe’s Baroness, X-Men’s Jean Grey and Storm, and Dave Steven’s The Rocketeer the “belldandies” treatment. belldandies’ vector art style is beautifully elegant and haunting while his meticulous use of various levels of red and black gives the art a vibrant personality. If the world was flat, belldandies would be king.
