Hey! Were you like me and didn’t get a chance to go to WonderCon last week? Did it suck when your friends on Facebook and Twitter was talking about how fun and cool it was at WonderCon when you were at home alone? Yeah… I know how ya feel kids. Well, thanks again to MarkDayComedy, we get a chance to check out some of the action at the show. Last year, we featured a fun video that MDC did of random cosplayers during WonderCon 2010. Well, hes back at it again for WonderCon 2011. As usual, we get a look at some of the good, the sexy, and terrible cosplayers at the show. Backed by the music of Trip Trap, MDC’s awesome and crisp video footage almost makes you feel like you are there. Almost… From the looks of things, it looks like Green Lantern and Sucker Punch cosplays are rampant at the conventions and most likely will be at full force at SDCC. I have no complains about Sucker Punch cosplayers, but I’m a bit disappointed by the lack of good Green Lantern costumes.

I’m not a guy that gets jealous easily, but  I am envious of those of you that got the chance to go to WonderCon as be there for all the cool new sneak peeks. At a WonderCon panel for ‘ThunderCats’, a new trailer for shown to the crowd and from the looks of it, its pretty awesome. I do admit it seems like the animation and production was a bit rushed as it doesn’t look clean. I always put Japanese animation at the highest standards and it doesn’t seem to meet it with ThunderCats. Maybe there was issues with time and the budgets and they did what they can do so I can’t really blame them. However, from the looks of it, I do love the new character designs in action and Lion-O is lookin’ pretty fierce. I can’t tell whether I will like this new series compared to what I watched as a child and that is going to be some big shoes to fill. Regardless, I think I will enjoy the hell out of the new series and the toy line as well. THUNDERCATS… HOOOOOOO!

This has been a huge weekend for ‘Green Lantern’ fans. Earlier last week, the attendees at CinemaCon got a ten minute glimpses into Warner Bros. new movie and the reviews have been mixed. Some say that it’s still terrible and some are raving saying it was amazing. One of the funniest comments I saw was someone described Green Lantern as the next ‘Howard the Duck’. Ouch! While CinemaCon was reserved for industry only, Warner Bros. released four minutes abridged version online from the footage shown at WonderCon during the weekend. I would have to say that the footage is much better than the first trailer and seems to have more of a serious undertone to the film that the trailer lead us to believe. While we will most likely never see the ten minute CinemaCon footage, I am still skeptical about whether this movie is going to be any good. Some of the scenes are very impressive, but four minutes of “good” footage doesn’t really say much. As of right now, I’m neutral and going to have to see it in the theatre to make my final judgement whether it was brilliant or just a hot mess. Expect a new Green Lantern trailer with the release of ‘Thor’.

‘Green Lantern’ opens in 2D/3D in June 17, 2011. Hit the jump and check out the WonderCon footage!

If you were like me and missed out on the festivities of WonderCon 2010 that was held this past weekend in San Francisco, CA., than your in luck (kinda…). YouTube community member, “MarkDayComedy” cranked out a music video chock-full of cosplayers (both good, sexy, and terrible), crowds, random stuff, some big boobed model, more crowds, and more random stuff all to the soundtrack of some crazy annoying euro-trash style bing-bong wakka-wakka electronica dance music that makes you feel like your ear just got raped by a hyena. Regardless, my hat goes off the MarkDayComedy. Considering, I have been to many comic/anime conventions in the past, MDC does a great job of capturing the mayhem that is convention. Due to the HD quality video that MDC captured on his Canon EOS 550D T2i (gawd damn, I’m jealous), the video is so crisp that I can almost smell the sweaty convention goers. Look out for Part 2 of MDC’s WonderCon 2010 coverage. Hopefully, we get some more hyena rape chikka-wah-wah music.
