Colorado resident Anthony Le must REALLY love his Iron Man. Considering his feat of making his own bad-ass War Machine costume for the premiere of Iron Man 2 in May is quite impressive. Anthony’s costume is no simple, half-assed cardboard cutout with black sharpie marker colored all over it. This War Machine cosplay is the result of labor intensive work and precision. More impressive is the fact that his War Machine costume was drafted and designed based on a small tidbit that he saw of War Machine during the Iron Man 2 teaser that premiered at San Diego Comic Con this past year. Considering, it is most likely that he had to guess on some of the parts, he did an amazing job. This bad-ass is completely made of high impact urethane material and actually uses about 600+ rivets to give War Machine a little more bite. On top of that, this cosplay features light up repulsor gauntlets and a vibrant arc reactor. This sir, sets the bar pretty high when it comes to fan created armor costumes. The late Stan Winston would be proud. Cheers to you Mr. Le. I want to buy you a Corona.

One of the things I love to collect is movie posters. Especially when it comes to the epic magnitude of the first Iron Man 2 poster. The net has been flooded in the past few months over what the new Iron Man and teased War Machine will look like. Everything from leaked photos of the action figures to conceptual drawings has been exposed to see the brilliant new armor designs. Now we get a first official look of the men in armor together in a beautiful movie poster. I’m going to speculate (there’s that word again…) that the Iron Man featured in this poster is the Mark V suit. The movie has been rumored to featured up to a Mark VI suit which makes me very excited. The Iron Man suit in the poster seems the same as the Mark III suit in the first movie, but a closer look shows small differences such as a new triangular chest plate around the arc reactor. Of course, there are images of a Iron Man suit with a triangular arc reactor so I will have to suspect that there are more armor-goodness surprises in store for us. Behind the “main man” is his grayscale counterpart, War Machine. He is a devious lookin’ fellow. Will there be a confrontation or even a battle between the man in red versus the man in black? I hope so. More “stuff blowin’ up” is ALWAYS a plus in my book. HURRAH!

As you may know, I am patiently waiting for May 7th when Iron Man 2 drops. There has been a lot of hub-bub about what’s in store in the sequel. The trailers have brought a lot of excitement and criticism as well. Most of the criticism from comic book fans has been toward Whiplash and how he looks in the movie however one thing has always been clear. Director, Jon Favreau never disappoints (for me anyways) and always has couple secrets up his sleeve. Iron Man 2 has already teased fans that there will be new suits and we have already got a 2-3 second glimpse of War Machine unleashing his arsenal in the teaser trailer. It has been hinted that Iron Man will feature up to Mark VI. Considering the last Iron Man suit shown in the first movie in it’s bout with Iron Monger was a Mark III, we are in for 3 new revisions. We already got glimpses of the Mark IV suit which seems to be a sleeker and cleaner version of the Mark III which still had exposed internal mechanics. Marvel Studios and Paramount has been pretty secretive about what the Mark VI will look like, but a leaked photo couples months ago showed an Iron Man with triangular chest Arc Reactor contrary to the circular one that we saw in Iron Man 1 and sequel teasers. With all this speculation going on, Comic Book Movie showed artist renditions of the new Iron Man and War Machine from the sequel. Of course, we cannot tell which version of the Iron Man this conceptual art is of, but I’m going to guess that it’s the Mark VI (and yes there is a lot of guessing and speculation going on). I am definitely happy that the designs are staying true to Adi Granov’s vision of Iron Man. I am even more happier that he doesn’t have metal nipples. DAMN YOU SSCCHHHUUUUMMMAACCCCHHHHEEEERRRRRRRR!!!
