OOOHHHHHH FFFUUUUCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKKKK YYYEEEEAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH! Someone (no one has stepped forward and accepted credit for it yet) made an awesome fan-made trailer for a fake sequel to ‘TRON: Legacy’ titled ‘TRON: Destiny’. I don’t want to write about it and ruin it with my words. Just hit the jump and watch it. You just might need a spare change of underwear from the sheer awesomeness of the trailer though. Enjoy.
Shake Weights crack me up. Especially the infomercials. If you haven’t seen the infomercial or have no idea what Shake Weights are, go to YouTube. On that note, its even more hilarious when artist, Jacob Borshard of CreeBobby Comics imagined what Shake Weights would be like in the world of TRON. Jacob created multiple TRON themed photos to promote his print collection found exclusively on Nakatomi Inc. Jacob is well known for his whimsical art prints and his work has been covered in the past by sites such as /Film.

Mondo x Alamo Drafthouse is well known for their amazing limited edition posters that they create for their premieres. One of my favorites this year would have been the variant ‘Iron Man 2‘ posters by Tyler Stout. One of the worst things is that these posters are very limited and sold at the theatre during the premiere or online in which they sell out in mere seconds. Well, there is some good news. Mondo x Alamo has hooked up with the infamous, Sideshow Collectibles to provide their amazing posters to the masses.
“We’re very excited to join forces with Sideshow Collectibles, the leading collectible manufacturer. We’re working on several major licensed film properties that we will roll out via this partnership,” said Mondo Creative Director Justin Ishmael.
First limited edition poster that Sideshow will offer is for Disney’s TRON and TRON: Legacy. The original limited edition prints will be available via mondotees.com and the variants will be available on Sideshow’s online retail site. This is good news indeed. If these are anything like Mondo’s ‘Star Wars‘ or ‘Star Trek‘ posters, these will be sought out by collectors for years!

Korea really cracks me up sometimes. As a natural born Korean, it is hard not to be embarrassed when something like this comes up. Apparently, in 1983, Korea produced an animation series called ‘Computer haekjeonham pokpa daejakjeon‘ (rough translation: Computer Nuclear Warship Bombing Operation) also known as ‘Savior of the Earth‘. Savior of the Earth came to the spotlight when the series was found to be a direct rip-off of the movie TRON (the first one). Heres the plot:
The evil Dr. Butler wants to control mankind’s behavior with his computer. By using the “ULTRA ENERGY” he has discovered he throws the world into chaos. As more and more countries become affected by this evil genius a World Summit is called and a plan to capture him is put into operation. Dr. Kim, Sheila and Keith are entrusted with this mission but their troubles are just beginning. Our heroes enter a strange and deadly electronic world and begin to play THE DEATH GAME.
One of the more examples of copyright infringement is the infamous “Last Disc Battle” in Savior of the Earth. Everything from identity discs to a CLU look-a-like is in this less than spectacular battle. On behalf of my people, I would like to say “I am sorry”. Hit the jump to check out the shame.
Well, this is a first. An “official” (used very loosely) collaboration between Disney and Playboy. Yes I said it. Disney and Playboy. Playboy will be releasing a new feature called “Game On” which is a “sexy tribute to the neon-lit TRON revival”. What can be hotter than sexy ladies and light cycles? Playboy models, Irina Voronina and Sasckya Porto will be letting it all hang out in a ultra-neon pictorial themed to the world of TRON in celebration of the upcoming release of TRON: Legacy. Photographed by Jared Ryder and illustrated by Nigel Evan Dennis, these sexy dames are featured in various costumes (which end up coming off) and on the famous fan-made light cycles by the Parker Bros. Considering this is a tribute and Disney probably had no say on what was produced, the make up and costumes are well done and look very similar to what is being featured in the TRON: Legacy trailer. Wow…. nudity and identity discs… very sexy.
Hit the jump to check out some SFW photos from the pictorial and a NSFW video direct from Playboy. You’ve been warned!
If you follow my Twitter or Facebook, you will know how big of a geek I have been about Disney’s TRON: Legacy. A lot of people have faint memories regarding the original TRON and one of the memories that stand out the most is the infamous Light Cycles. Well, it was only a matter of time before someone created a pretty awesome motorcycle helmet themed after the movie. Parisian motorcycle helmet designer, Les Ateliers Ruby has created a limited edition TRON themed open faced motorcycle helmet feature the every iconic blue and white circuit board graphics. These “Ruby & TRON” helmets aren’t for sale yet, but there is speculation that these helmets will go for a pretty penny. Most likely over $1,500.00+. Yikes! I really dig the old school design of the helmet and it would look freakin’ bad ass if you are a “Cafe Racer” enthusiast.

Couple weeks ago, Threadless’ monthly art contest to determine their new shirt design featured an incredibly cool TRON inspired shirt and hoodie by Rolf Nelson AKA martiandrivein. The “TRON shirt” features are really cool “glow in the dark” feature where the cool line graphics illuminate just like in the movie. Unfortunately, it seems the reality of seeing such a cool shirt being made is a bit slim considering the lack of support the shirt garnered during the contest. Regardless, I was completely sold when I saw that shirt considering that epic-ness of the new upcoming sequel. Cheers to you Rolf Nelson. You sir, are a winner in my book.
