yoshimech

I love custom toys. Donald “KodyKoala” Kennedy created this pretty cool custom figure of a Yoshi mecha. Piloting the sucked is a miniature Yoshi as well! From the looks of it, Kennedy used two different scale Yoshi vinyl figures from Branpresto. Pretty awesome in my opinion. The best feature has to be the weathered tarnish paint job. Mario better watch how he rides Yoshi cause his mecha will stop his ass. I wonder if the fists shoot out like Mazinger. You can check out more pix at KodyKoala’s Flickr page.

I think I just wet my pants. Sideshow Collectibles is bustin’ out the big guns for the much anticipated sequel, Iron Man 2. Sideshow collaborated with Legacy effects to create a stunning Iron Man 2 Mark VI maquette.

With his identity as Iron Man exposed, Tony Stark now faces government pressure to share his armor technology with the military. Fearing that his powerful invention will be corrupted, Stark is unwilling to hand over the Iron Man technology. Stark must now forge new alliances and face powerful new enemies with Pepper Pots and James “Rhodey” Rhodes on his side.

Standing at an insane 17 inches tall, this bad ass statues features a shit load of bells and whistles such as LED powered light up action for Iron Man’s repulsor gloves, arc-reactor/uni-beam, and glowing eyes.

Sideshow Collectibles and Legacy Effects are proud to bring you the Iron Man Mark VI Maquette from the highly anticipated Iron Man 2 film. Sideshow’s team collaborated with Legacy Effects to create this incredible maquette, which was used to develop the original screen-used costume, capturing the awesome detail of Iron Man’s legendary armor. Each piece is individually painted and finished, each with its own unique quality and detail that is the trademark of a handcrafted Sideshow Collectibles product. LED light-up eyes, repulsor hands and heart add incredible realism (battery operated function TBD). The Iron Man Mark VI Maquette is the perfect addition to any display.

This statue will definitely be a highly sought after collectible and as most Sideshow collectibles go, these will sell out before they release in the Winter. Even at a high price point of a little under 400 dollaroos, knowing Sideshow’s reputation, you surely are getting the most bang for your buck.

Following the already popular Iron Man Mark III ArtFX statue from Kotobukiya two years ago, Koto is back at it again with a new upgraded version of their hit statue for the release of Iron Man 2 this year (wow, it feels weird to say this year all of a sudden…). This time around, we get a cool new statue of the Mark IV suit from the sequel. It is true that there isn’t much difference between the Mark III and the Mark IV, but its the small attention to detail that makes all the difference. The Mark IV is definitely more sleeker than its predecessor and less of the internal mechanism is exposed. Also, unlike the original which featured a less than spectacular arm down pose, the new statue features Iron Man with his hand up ready to shoot his repulsor blast. The biggest change is definitely the cool new base. Unlike the original which has a plain grey base with the logo, the new base is a bit more themed in which it was made to look like the arc reactor. Whether collector’s will buy the new Mark IV statue is up in the air, but it is definitely cool to own. Personally, I would love to pass on more of these Iron Man statues, but I will most likely regret it down the line.

A “cool exec with a heart of steel,” Tony Stark is the invincible Iron Man…

Why settle for a pint sized action figure when you can own a full scale statue of Iron Man? The nutty sculptors at Studio OxMox designed and produced a 1:1 scale limited edition statue of the Mark III suit from the first Iron Man movie.

The statue stands at a staggering 188cm (approximately 6.168 feet) and on top of that, the statue stands on a themed base that measure at an additional 35cm (1.148 feet). The statue is made of fiberglass and due to the sheer size of the piece it has to be shipped in 3 separate boxes.

If you were ever planning on owning a collectible that will be the center of attention, this is it. However, it will set you back a little under $2000 bucks. I just wished it actually had a working repulsor ray that can blast any cheap ass relative that is planning to send me socks for Christmas. Pew pew pew! Hit the jump to see the full picture!

To promote the premiere of the fourth season of Dexter, Showtime put together a small stop-motion animation video named “Dexter’s Private Life”. The animation was created using the Dexter action figures by Bif Bang Pow!. This video is pretty creepy and hilarious at the same time. At least Bif Bang Pow! got the wicked Dexter smile down on thier action figure.

Season 4 of Dexter premieres September 27th, 2009 on Showtime.
