I wish there was a way I could unsee this.

What happens when you take a mad genius like Caleb Kraft of Hackaday with an idea to create a functional replica of Thor’s hammer, Mjölnir using a mini-Tesla coil and foam? Well, you get 80,000 volts worth of fun! That’s what! It’s pretty hilarious how huge Hackaday’s Mjölnir replica is. It’s definitely not made to scale, but it’s epic none the less.

Marvel Studios UK just dropped the first poster for Thor: The Dark World and I have to say that it is GLORIOUS! The poster set from the first film was less than desirable and the newest poster really captures the power of our favorite God of Thunder. The first teaser for Thor: The Dark World is scheduled to release next week so I can’t wait!

Thor: The Dark World drops November 8, 2013. Hit the jump and check out the new poster!

I’m not a fan of product placement in movies. It’s disruptive to the story and it’s pretty obvious to the viewer what exactly is going on. However, I do enjoy cross promotional advertisements and there is plenty for ‘The Avengers’. So far, Target has been on the spot with clever and whimsical ads for their goods and The Avengers. First, the “Little Avengers” TV promo spot and now these zany sculptures that spotlight the different heroes of the Avengers using a wide variety of merchandise found in Target. My favorite little piece has to be the York peppermint patties used in the Mjolnir sculpture. Well done Target. Well done.

Oh yeah… I enjoy any ‘Avengers’ news regardless how small or pointless it is. On the other hand, as you may know, I don’t dare post set spy photos and reserve my site for officially released images. Well, thankfully Marvel has released images of a cool new banner that will be hanging in your local cinema. I do have to say that the concept is simple, but these are some rad lookin’ banners. Also, from the looks of it, we might be seeing each Avenger as it’s very own poster as well. My only complaint would have to be the way the characters are posed. Other than Captain America, why does it seem that the photographer was posing our beloved Avengers to pose while sticking their necks out? Seems a bit odd. What do I know… My favorite has to be Black Widow and Loki. They look sexy as hell.

Hit the jump for a look at the second banner and click on them to get your hands on a larger version. Enjoy minions.

I woke up extra early today to make sure I was awake when the first trailer for ‘The Avengers’ dropped this morning and I don’t regret it at all! All we’ve been able to see so far were couple shitty set spy photos and a tasty teaser at the end of ‘Captain America: The First Avenger’, but now, we have a clearer picture of what we can expect from The Avengers and I have to say that I’m fucking excited! The mix of characters and personalities in The Avengers is going to be dynamic and you can already see that between Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark and Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers. Just from what I see from the trailer, it looks like Loki will be off the rails and will be a great villain for the newly assembled team. Also, from the looks of it, RDJ is the front man and will steal the show (but did you expect otherwise). While we would have loved to see more scenes showcasing heroes interacting with other heroes, we will just have to be patient and wait till May when the film comes out. Until then, just check out the trailer and make sure you have an extra set of underwear on hand.

Hit the jump and check out the first trailer for ‘The Avengers’!

During Super Bowl weekend, we got to meet “Kid Vader” in the now classic, VW Passat x Star Wars commerical. Well, now with the release of ‘Thor’ just couple weeks away, the creative guys at Marvel released an epic video parody called “Little Thor”. Unlike Kid Vader who goes around the house trying to use the “Force”, Little Thor wields the “mite-ty” Thor’s hammer. Unlike Kid Vader who had the assistance of his parents to be able to successfully use his Force power, Little Thor can do it all by himself, like a big boy. Unfortunately, such godly powers in the hands of a little tyke can lead to bad situations. I don’t know about you, but as a die-hard Star Wars fan, I want to like Kid Vader more, but I can’t resist the power of Little Thor. Little Thor wins, hands down… or is it “hammer down”?

BTW, the child playing ‘Little Thor’ looks freakin’ god-like with his golden hair and vicious stare. Well done Marvel.
