Let’s face it. We are all drooling over the fact that ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ is going to come out this year. Well, until then we can only dream about how awesome Christopher Nolan’s next Batman installment is going to be. Well, looks like Doğan Can Gündoğdu couldn’t wait. He went and made his very own opening sequence for the film and I have to say, it is fucking impressive. If this awesome opening doesn’t send chills down your spine, you’re not human… or just a massive twat. Great work Doğan!

Shit. If this piece of news (if you can call it that…) is good enough professional entertainment news, its good enough for iGeektrooper. Today, a guy named Ash Harper (@asharp82) tweeted and posted a photo of himself with Tom Hardy in which he claims, “Me and Tom Hardy (Bane) on set on the new Batman film!” So far, every news site is posting this photo as some kind of incredible breaking news for ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ and all I can say is… whut?! Here’s couple things you should know:

1. Ash Harper is NOT part of the production crew. He has tweeted earlier that he was there to “repair the windscreen on Tom Hardy’s Audi R8″. Since the tweet, he has gone and removed it. (Go figure…)

2. Ash Harper has tweeted: “The people asking about the new Batman and my earlier pic of Tom Hardy, I can’t really say much For legal reasons but…”. I really doubt he is under any type of legal commitment to NOT talk about The Dark Knight Rises when all the picture was is of him with Hardy in front of a white storage unit and most likely Hardy’s R8.

3. Ash Harper did tweet after that he did “walk the streets of Gotham City”. I seriously doubt that considering he is only an auto repair guy and would most likely NOT have access to a closed production set. It is obvious that this is a huge movie for Warner Bros. and Christopher Nolan so I doubt any “Joe Schmoe” would be able to get entry. Also, Nolan’s movies has been filmed in real life locations that are used as the backdrop for Gotham City (such as Pittsburg) so, yeah. Maybe you did. Along with millions of others that lives in that city. Since the tweet, he has gone and removed that as well (Maybe “legally” obligated? Yeah, sure…)

4. The net is buzzing about Tom Hardy’s muscular physique in the picture. Well, apparently, you haven’t seen the trailer for ‘Warrior’ or watched ‘Inception’. Tom Hardy has been bulked up for couple years now and I haven’t seen him lean since ‘Rock N’ Rolla’. Sure, he probably is packing on the muscle for The Dark Knight Rises. Isn’t that obvious? He’s playing Bane for gawd sakes. You would think he is working out considering filming on TDKR starts in a few months. A photo isn’t needed for you to presume that.

5. No one has confirmed this photo other than Ash Harper.

It must be a slow news day as this is considered newsworthy. I just can’t wrap my head around this nonsense. BTW I tweeted earlier that I’m on the set of ‘The Avengers 2′. I tweeted it, so it must be true. Go cover that.

Note: This is in no way an article to bash on Ash Harper. I appreciate anyone that is a fan of Tom Hardy and Batman like I am. I am just pointing out the facts and saying how it is. The internet makes me go crazy.

A new face has officially joined the star studded cast of ‘The Dark Knight Rises’. Earlier this week, rumors surfaced that actress Juno Temple (Kaboom, The Three Musketeers) will be joining TDKR. Well, now its confirmed and the web is rampant with rumors regarding who she will play. Described as “a street smart Gotham-girl”, the first name to pop up was Stephanie Brown. Stephanie Brown has been known in the Batman universe under many alias such as Spoiler, Batgirl (III), and even Robin (IV). This was a bit harder to swallow as it doesn’t seem that Christopher Nolan has any plans in adding a sidekick when hes trying to wrap up his Batman story. One likely role may be Holly Robinson. Introduced in  Batman #404 during Frank Miller’s Batman: Year One story arc, Holly was an ex-prostitute who becomes a loyal ally and sidekick to Selina Kyle AKA Catwoman. Even at one point, Holly is groomed to take up the mantle of Catwoman from Selina Kyle. That would be an interesting pairing with Anne Hathaway on screen. Considering all these speculations, the only common factor is that all three are blonde and that really doesn’t hold up. Until the official news is announced (for both Temple and Joseph Gordon-Levitt), we can only keep ourselves entertained with what ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ can be like. Unfortunately, only Christopher Nolan knows.

Oh what the hell… On Friday, Variety reported that actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt was signed to join Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ to play the villainous Alberto Falcone AKA “The Holiday Killer”. Well, now EW is reporting that the news was false and JGL is NOT Alberto Falcone.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt, long-rumored to be joining his Inception brethren in The Dark Knight Rises, will appear in director Christopher Nolan’s third Batman film. But a source close to the situation says that recent reports that Gordon-Levitt will play Alberto Falcone (a.k.a. the Holiday Killer) — the son of former mob kingpin, Carmine Falcone (Tom Wilkinson) — are incorrect. So, Batman fans: Begin the re-speculation now!

I’m a bit torn considering Variety and EW are both highly respectable new sites for movies. Now that there is conflicting news regarding who JGL is playing in TDKR, I guess we have to wait for official word from Warner Bros. about who JGL will play. I just might slap myself if I have to look up more images to make another JGL/Alberto Falcone graphic. /facepalm

As of right now, I’m putting this as a rumor and my money goes to Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Dick Grayson AKA Robin/Nightwing. I know the ladies would love to see Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s Dick in The Dark Knight Rises. wa wa wa waaaa…

albertofalcone

Hurray! There is no need to speculate about Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s involvement in Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Dark Knight Rises’! Variety has confirmed that JGL will be playing Alberto Falcone, who is the youngest son of Carmine Falcone, who was played by Tom Wilkinson in ‘Batman Begins’. Alberto was also known as “The Holiday Killer” in ‘Batman: The Long Halloween’.

Born to Gotham City crime lord Carmine Falcone and his wife Louisa on February 14, Alberto Falcone was an outcast in his family of mobsters, a nonexistent part of the family business. His father supported his older siblings Mario and Sofia Gigante involvement in the “business” which created a pathological jealousy. He fought his way up on a scholarship to Harvard University and later went onto Oxford. Alberto Falcone was always eager to follow his father’s footsteps and offered his service, but Carmine Falcone refused to let his son get involved in his “business,” apparently wishing for Alberto Falcone to live a normal life. It is suggested that, contrary to Carmine’s open feelings, Alberto may have truly been his favorite child. However, Alberto Falcone had other plans. (via wiki)

As of right now, only Christopher Nolan has any clue on what kind of role Alberto will play in his final chapter of Nolan’s Batman series. There is only speculation whether Alberto will remain as a regular “mobster” criminal element in the story or something bigger as Holiday. Will Joseph-Gordon Levitt play an Alberto Falcone character that is trying to gain a foot hold in his father’s fallen empire and get payback on Batman or will he be a brutal serial murderer obsessed with the holidays? It is already difficult to tell where this story will go with the addition of Selina Kyle (Anne Hathaway) and Bane (Tom Hardy) so we will just have to wait and see. Also, with the announcement of JGL as Alberto Falcone, actress Juno Temple (Cracks, Kaboom) also has been sign on to play a “street smart Gotham-girl”. Could this be Spoiler perhaps?

“The Dark Knight Rises” is scheduled for release on July 20, 2012
