I don’t think I’ve been this happy about ‘Star Wars’ in a long time. It was announced today that fan favorite Sith Lord, Darth Maul who was cut in half at the end of ‘Episode I: Phantom Menace’ by a young Obi-Wan Kenobi will find his way back into ‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars’. Considering Darth Maul is my favorite Sith Lord (Vader is a close second), I was extremely disappointed to have his character be killed (or so we thought…) so quickly in the first prequel film. I guess George Lucas and Dave Filoni (Clone Wars Supervising Director) has felt the same as I did…

“I found it funny in The Phantom Menace when Darth Maul got cut in half, I thought George was definitively saying to the fans, There’s no way this character is coming back. This is not a Boba Fett/Sarlacc Pit situation where, because of fan love, Boba gets out of that thing any number of ways.’ Fast-forward ten-years, and I’m the one to bring Maul back.”

There were two things that came from Episode I-III that I love. First is Darth Maul. Second is Star Wars: The Clone Wars. So to have these come together is a dream come true. Clone Wars needs a formidable Sith Lord to go heads up against the Jedis and our favorite red and black Dathomiri Zabrak Sith Lord is the perfect character to bring mayhem to the series. I for one cannot wait!

You all know how much I hate Ewoks. I hate them with every cell in my body. On the other hand, I love ‘How I Met Your Mother’ and Barney Stinson (played beautifully by Neil Patrick Harris). Well, in the current episodes of ‘How I Met Your Mother’, Barney is involved with a gal named Nora who he is madly in love with. Unfortunately, he believes the relationship won’t work out due to the principles of “The Ewok Line”. It makes no sense what so ever, but Barney says it’s true, so it must be. Right?

BTW: I’m totally disgusted that Barney likes Ewoks, but Nora’s dislike for the furry bastards makes her extra HOT!

Hit the jump and let Barney explain, “The Ewok Principle”

I love ‘Star Wars’. I love ‘Game of Thrones’. So there’s very little I can complain about this crazy mash-up illustration titled ‘Game of Clones’ by Dave Styer (@geekleetist). The only complaint I would have is why can’t this be a Scout Trooper sitting on a throne covered in Ewok fur and skulls? I would enjoy that very much. If you enjoy this illustration as much as I did, you can pick up a print, shirt, or hoodie on Society6!

May the Force be with you to fight cancer!

This is brilliant! In celebration of the Blu-ray release of ‘Star Wars’, “Stand Up to Cancer” AKA SU2C (@su2c)  is teaming up with ‘Star Wars’ and releasing three amazing Star Wars inspired tees to help raise awareness and funds to help further cancer research. These tees feature awesome artwork while sending the message of “using the Force for good”. My favorite has to be the stormtrooper with the message, “Blast Cancer”! These tees will be available at SU2C’s web shop till the end of the year at 25 bucks a tee and the proceed will go towards the cause. Celebrity Star Wars fans such as Emma Stone (Amazing Spider-Man, The Help), Ken Jeong (Community, Hangover), and Bill Hader (Saturday Night Live) are also getting in on the cause by filming promotional video for SU2C wearing the tees and recreating iconic scenes from the movies. I seriously cannot wait to see what Ken Jeong and Bill Hader comes up with! Also, Star Wars and SU2C is teaming up with eBay to auction off movie memorabilia during September 16-23rd, 2011 to raise funds for the cause as well. It’s beautiful when Star Wars can help out a great cause like Stand Up to Cancer. Star Wars is the best!

Now, go and buy a shirt or two… or three. GO NOW.

Imagine ordering a plate of your favorite sushi and having it arrive with a Imperial Scout Trooper and speeder bike sculpture made of carrots and radishes? If I was you, I would lose my shit over how bad ass it is! Well, this is the case with Okitsugu Kado, a 39 year old sushi chef from Osaka, Japan who has a love for ‘Star Wars’ that is unmatched in the world of sushi.

‘In most cases I place vegetable sculptures on a dish for customers with their food, although with some of the bigger ones occasionally I will only put on display. I’m a huge Star Wars fan and a member of a Japanese fan group called Jedi Order. For my carvings I use everything from carrots, white radish, sweet  potato, Kyo-potato, radish, even pumpkin and more.  I’ve been carving vegetables for almost 15 years and have made more than 40 sculptures. Before that I trained in ice carving. Sometimes I need over ten hours to finish just one sculpture but it doesn’t matter to me because during carving I forget the time… I just want to see people smile – that is why I carve.’

Kado can be found using the “Force” at Minayoshi Sushi Bistro in Japan.
