For a hot summer day, there is nothing more refreshing than an ice cold can of Artoo’s premium beer! Teefury always has great parody shirts and today, Teefury takes a whack at our beloved astrometric droid from Star Wars. Considering the fact that Artoo has been recreated over the years as a fridge, trash can, and other products, it is fitting to see Artoo as a can of beer. Why not? Is there another alternative? I doubt an Artoo deodorant stick would be as pleasing as a can of beer. Teefury favorite designer, James Lillis of Brisbane, Australia thinks so as designed this hilarious shirt. Unfortunately, like all Teefury shirts, this will only be available for one day at a low low price of 9 dollars (or credits, based on your planet system’s currency of choice).

Thank you Gentle Giant! Thank you Star Wars! Thank you for the gift of gracing us with the GREATEST R2-D2 collectible of all time! There I said it! This lovely astrometric droid has all the bells and whistles that we wished we could have had in previous Artoo toys. There has been previous attempts by Kenner and Hasbro at adding the little special features that Artoo possessed, but they never did Artoo justice. Next year, Gentle Giant will drop this bad boy early next year. Measuring at 7 inches tall, Artoo will be produced in cold cast polystone and hand painted? With all this meticulous work, it is obvious that this Artoo will be limited edition. On top of the great craftsmanship, this bitchin’ Artoo comes with periscope scanners, mechanical gripper, Luke Skywalkers lightsaber (from Return of the Jedi). rotary saw, computer hackin’ thingie, and more. All the little accessories are detachable so you can customize Artoo to your liking. BEAUTIFUL! Too bad this Artoo doesn’t move and make noises. That my friends, is the next GREATEST R2-D2 collectible of all time!

Hit the jump to check out more of Gentle Giant’s Artoo!

Good gawd, I love etsy. Where else can you find random bad ass stuff that fans made? This is the case with etsy community member, Mandy (AKA frosti AKA “The Vessel of Awesomeness”) from Powell River, Canada. We have already seen some cool Star Wars inspired hoodies from Marc Ecko, but one thing Ecko lacked was making some cool apparel featuring our favorite astrometric droid, R2-D2. Enter frosti’s R2-D2 hoodie! Like majority of the cool stuff that you find on etsy, the items are handmade by the seller. In this case, frosti personally designed and made this fantastic Artoo hoodie herself. You really have to dig the way Artoo’s head and body panels are meticulously placed from the hood to the front of the sweater. Unlike a lot of sweaters you see in department/specialty stores, all the decorative detail on the clothes are individually sewn together. You won’t find that silkscreen crap on this Artoo sweater. The epic-ness (I know thats not a word) of frosti’s custom hoodies do not stop there as she also designed and made a pretty cool Robin (from Batman), Nintendo, and zombie inspired hoodies as well. The only bad part is due to the nature of how these sweaters are made and their popularity, they sell out VERY quickly.  Hit the jump to see some of frosti’s bitchin’ hoodies!

ZOMGWTFBBQ!!!! This may be the cutest astrometric droid I have ever seen. Rob Meyers of Rob Meyer Productions created a 1:18 scale R2-D2 that can be controlled by remote control. RMP is a metal fabrication, practical effects, and costuming studio located in Tucson, Arizona. His company designs and produces robotics and special effect machines that you may find at a museum exhibit or movie.

RMP designed this little Artoo and pimped him our with three Solarbostic GM13 page gear motors. Measuring at a teeny weeny 2.36″/6cm tall, this little astro-metic droid is controlled by remote which lets the user move Artoo wheels and his head. Mini Artoo is so adorable. He looks like a mini salt shaker. I’m pretty sure the mini R2-D2 would still make C-3PO his bitch.

Hit the jump to see a video of mini Artoo in action!

“My Artoo Cookies Brings All the the Jedis to My Yard…”

Who said you can’t eat astrometric droids? Esty community member, sugarandflour puts my wife’s cookies to shame (don’t tell her that I said that), by baking her husband scrumptiously geeky Star Wars R2-D2 sugar cookies. Great thing for us is that we do not have to commit to marriage and put up with the in-laws to eat these droid treats. sugarandflour has them on sale for 18 bucks for a 6 pack! Heres a little pitch from sugarandflour about her cookies.

My husband loves Star Wars. I suppose it was only a matter of time before I was asked to make the characters into cookies! Oh – and I made the cutter for this cookie myself, so it’s totally original. These little robot cookies are made with my absolutely perfect sugar cookie dough flavored with vanilla and almond, and frosted with vanilla/almond royal icing. R2D2 stands 5″ tall and is 3″ wide. You will receive 6 R2D2 cookies, nestled safely inside a brown kraft box tied with a satin ribbon. These would also make super party favors.

A baker of delicious geek treats and a fabricator of cookie molds?! Please marry me. Hit the jump for more pics and info about where to get them.
