Michael Bay… You tricked us once… You tricked us twice… Oh hell… You might trick us for a third time…

Hello boys and girls. I’m sick and I’m out of it, but I mustered enough energy to yap about the new ‘Transformers: Dark of the Moon’ trailer that hit the web yesterday. Why do you say? Shouldn’t staying in bed and getting better be more important? Not when it comes to Transformers. Sure, Michael Bay has raped my childhood memories of Transformers, but what the hell. It’s better than nothing right? Right…? Regardless, critics and fans alike agree on one thing. The new trailer is fucking amazing. They are cheering and praising the new trailer from the top of mountains and rooftops, BUT in the back of their heads, this all seems too familiar. Maybe it’s because when we saw the trailer for ‘Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen’, we thought that was “the shit” as well. We were convinced that it was going to be an amazing ride only to be kicked in the all spark by Bay and terrible storytelling. Is history going to repeat itself? I’m not sure yet. Shia LeBeouf assures that the same mistake won’t be made. From the looks of the trailer, it’s much different from the previous two movies (maybe because there is no desert this time) and the production looks massive. The trailer almost gives off the vibe from the trailer for ‘Skyline’, but not as crappy. The tentacle and beetle-looking Decepticons are a bit confusing, but I do see no sign of Skid and Mudflap so that is a positive. Also, the first look at Shockwave was boner inducing. Don’t lie. It happened to you as well. I love the fact that the battle is taking place in the whole city instead of being centralized on couple streets like previous films. The scale is grander and it looks like its going to be a hell of a good time. I just hope that the special effects do not out weigh the story… as if THAT never happened before.

BTW, does Rosie Huntington-Whiteley look like Thor’s hammer smashed in her face. Instead of settling with Megan Fox who has a toe for a thumb, they went with a girl with a toe for a face. (That was pretty mean huh…). I think Bay made the wrong choice making a change in the eye candy.

‘Transformers: Dark of the Moon’ opens on July 1, 2011 in IMAX and IMAX 3D. Hit the jump and check out the trailer. Also, have a great weekend folks.

I kid you not! This is not an April Fools joke. ‘Star Trek’ legend, Leonard Nimoy (who played Spock… I wish I didn’t have to mention that…) will be joining the cast of Michael Bay’s ‘Transformers: Dark of the Moon’. Not as an actual actor in the film, but as the voice of Optimus Prime’s predecessor, Sentinel Prime. You may have seen Sentinel Prime during the TF3 trailer when the astronauts of Apollo 11 discovers his body in the wreckage of the ship. One fun fact about Nimoy is that this isn’t the first time he gets to be the voice of a Transformer. Leonard Nimoy was the voice of Galvatron in ‘The Transformers: The Movie’ animation back in 1986. Seems a long ways since than. I just hope Nimoy’s great voice and talent isn’t wasted on another terrible Bay movie. Oh, BTW… if you’re wondering what vehicle Sentinel Prime will be in the movie, he is going to be a fire engine.

You won’t like me when I’m angry… birds.

I can’t help but laugh about how ridiculously stupid and funny this trailer is. Rooster Teeth (the team that brought you ‘Red Vs. Blue’) decided to create a live action trailer that answers the questions: “What would an Angry Birds’ movie looks like IF it was directed by Michael Bay?” Incorporating cheesy dialogue and one liners with senseless action sequences and odd slow motion scenes, this trailer showcases all the tricks up Michael Bay’s sleeve. One thing you may know, I hate Michael Bay. He pretty much single-handedly raped ‘Transformers’ and I can’t forgive him for that. Thankfully this is not a trailer for a real movie and we are all safe from an such a stupid movie. However, Angry Birds is very popular and it could happen. Wouldn’t that be a bitch…

I guess Michael Bay and Paramount is picking their targets when it comes to advertising ‘Transformers : Dark of the Moon’. On Sunday, during NASCAR’s Daytona 500, the newest trailer for Transformers 3 dropped and I have to say, it screamed NASCAR! A little different than the ad aired during the Super Bowl, I have to say, I like this one better. Maybe its the “All-Spark” powered NASCAR race cars (like Jimmie Johnson’s Lowe 48 Chevy Impala pictured above) or just the fact that there was some narrative to the spot versus the Bay-standard “lets blow shit up” promo. I don’t know… Maybe it’s because I like NASCAR and it spoke to me. Does it speak to you?

Holy shit. I know what you all think about Michael Bay and ‘Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen’. The movie was a piece of crap. Well, the first glimpse for ‘Transformers: Dark of the Moon’ dropped during the Super Bowl and I have to admit. I’m a bit excited. The 30 second spot represented exactly what Michael Bay and Transformers is known for. Stuff blowing up and shit transforming. As usual, Optimus Prime is flying down city streets taking out everything out in his way. It seems that new love interest, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley has perfected Megan Fox ability to stand still in the middle of the street while shit is hitting the fan. Thank you for that Michael! Am I convinced that Transformers 3 is going to be any good? It’s impossible to tell from just 30 seconds. I still have doubts from what happened in Transformers 2. I hope that they get this shit right. On that note, what the heck was the flying Transformer? Is this the introduction of Predacons and Maximals?

‘Transformers: Dark of the Moon’ opens November 14, 2011.

Things are starting to get very interesting…  It was reported today that Paramount won’t be picking up Megan Fox’s option for the third installment in Michael Bay’s Transformer trilogy. What that means is that Megan Fox will NOT be in Transformer 3. “Officially and unofficially”, it was announced that Michael Bay wanted to move the story into a different direction and cast a new female love interest opposite, Shia LeBeouf. However, many believe this may be just be the direct result of a strained relations between the director and the starlet as Megan Fox once described Michael Bay as “Hitler”. If you factor in the insane nature of Michael Bay, Megan Fox sealed her fate when she made that comment. Was she out of line? I don’t know… Was it a smart choice to drop Megan Fox? I haven’t the slightest clue. It is true that Transformers and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen really lacks a strong storyline and it clustered with barrage of over-the-top special effects and explosions, but I do feel that I feel a bit cheated considering we did invest ourselves to this relationship between Sam and Mikaela since the first movie and now it doesn’t exist. Go ahead and call me a hopeless romantic, but it was fun to see an awkward and goofy loser like Sam Witwicky that we all can relate to in some shape and form get the “hot girl”. This being the third movie and most likely the last from Michael Bay for Transformers, why not finish the story with the relationship of Sam and Mikaela intact. I guess personal grudges is more important.

I wonder if Shia LeBeouf’s recent criticism about Transformers Revenge of the Fallen will result in the fate as well. It will be very interesting to see how Transformers 3 will develop over the summer and I am pretty sure there will be more announcement to come. Personally, I am very disappointed from this news. I am REALLY going to miss those “out of the blue” slow motion, bouncy-bouncy sequences. /drool

[Update: Megan Fox's camp has announced that it was Megan's decision to drop from Transformers 3. I seriously do NOT know what to believe anymore...]

Well… I’m not sure if this is good news or not. Most likely not. Explosions and stuff director, Michael Bay dropped an update on his official site regarding Transformers 3. Bay informs Transformer fans that productions of the third movie will start shoot next month. Bay reveals random locations that they will be shooting at such as Los Angeles, Chicago, Washington DC, Florida, Texas, Africa, Moscow, and China (again…). Curious enough, I’m pretty sure Bay is going to sucker punch us in the head by giving us another battle scene in the desert. On the casting side, Shia LeBeouf (Sam Witwicky), Megan Fox (Mikaela Banes), Josh Duhamel (Major Lennox), and Tyrese Gibson (Robert Epps… WHYYY!!!???!@#) is confirmed to return to the trilogy. On that note, Michael Bay has some how suckered in or “locked in” (as he describes it) superb award winning actors Frances McDormand (Fargo) and John Malkovich (Burn After Reading) to join the cast. Along with these two impressive actors, the HILARIOUS and INSANE Ken Jeong (if you don’t know who Ken Jeong is, you are pretty lame…) will be joining the cast as well. Michael Bay also confirms that the a new Autobot will be joining the Transformers who will be featured as a Ferrari 458 Italia. Most likely Transformers 3 is reaching outside the realm of GM vehicles as GM hasn’t made any great cars in a few years (Remember Skid and Mudflap?).

Regardless, as unhappy I am with the story telling and explosion-driven directing of Michael Bay, I am a bit excited to hear the new additions to the cast. I wonder is these three great actors/comedians can hold their own or will Michael Bay’s douche-ness destroy them as well…
