Michael Bay… You tricked us once… You tricked us twice… Oh hell… You might trick us for a third time…
Hello boys and girls. I’m sick and I’m out of it, but I mustered enough energy to yap about the new ‘Transformers: Dark of the Moon’ trailer that hit the web yesterday. Why do you say? Shouldn’t staying in bed and getting better be more important? Not when it comes to Transformers. Sure, Michael Bay has raped my childhood memories of Transformers, but what the hell. It’s better than nothing right? Right…? Regardless, critics and fans alike agree on one thing. The new trailer is fucking amazing. They are cheering and praising the new trailer from the top of mountains and rooftops, BUT in the back of their heads, this all seems too familiar. Maybe it’s because when we saw the trailer for ‘Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen’, we thought that was “the shit” as well. We were convinced that it was going to be an amazing ride only to be kicked in the all spark by Bay and terrible storytelling. Is history going to repeat itself? I’m not sure yet. Shia LeBeouf assures that the same mistake won’t be made. From the looks of the trailer, it’s much different from the previous two movies (maybe because there is no desert this time) and the production looks massive. The trailer almost gives off the vibe from the trailer for ‘Skyline’, but not as crappy. The tentacle and beetle-looking Decepticons are a bit confusing, but I do see no sign of Skid and Mudflap so that is a positive. Also, the first look at Shockwave was boner inducing. Don’t lie. It happened to you as well. I love the fact that the battle is taking place in the whole city instead of being centralized on couple streets like previous films. The scale is grander and it looks like its going to be a hell of a good time. I just hope that the special effects do not out weigh the story… as if THAT never happened before.
BTW, does Rosie Huntington-Whiteley look like Thor’s hammer smashed in her face. Instead of settling with Megan Fox who has a toe for a thumb, they went with a girl with a toe for a face. (That was pretty mean huh…). I think Bay made the wrong choice making a change in the eye candy.
‘Transformers: Dark of the Moon’ opens on July 1, 2011 in IMAX and IMAX 3D. Hit the jump and check out the trailer. Also, have a great weekend folks.
