Couple days ago, we featured a really cool LEGO version of Metal Gear REX from the Metal Gear Solid video game series. Well, many of you seem to be a big fan of the mechanical beast and it is great news that a collectible statue will be available soon for you MSG fans.

Kojima Productions has teamed up with Three-A Toys to create a monster of a collectible. If you are not familiar of 3A Toys, 3A is the brain child of Kim Fung Wong, ThreeZero and the infamous Ashley Wood. They have been designing and producing high-end designer military and art figures for couple years now.

Originally spotted on 3A’s forum, the Metal Gear REX statue is estimated to be over one foot tall (based on the pictures). The height is only speculation as a lot of prototype toys are made larger than the actual production item. Like most 3A’s collectibles, it is most likely that MGRex will be made with PVC, ABS, and other light materials. It may cost you an arm and a leg as 3A collectible fanatics are estimating that the REX may cost around 400 dollars. Even at that price point, how can you not resist a Metal Gear REX statue graced by Ashley Wood and Hideo Kojima? I’m sold.

It seems like there is nothing you can’t do with LEGOs. MOCpages (a fan-created LEGO user group site) member, Rag naRock is an avid fan of Metal Gear Solid, LEGOs, and mecha. These three loves gave birth to two mighty fine new LEGO creations. From Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriot, Rag naRock created a Metal Gear REX and Metal Gear GEKKO robots all from LEGOs. MG GEKKO and MG REX were bio-mechanical fighting vehicle that were designed for combat by DARPA and ArmsTech Inc in the MSG video game series. Considering how bad ass REX and GEKKOS looks, you can really see that Rag naRock invested a lot of time and effort into making these designs. Fortuantely, Rag naRock is kind enough to share his building instructions as well. I’m seriously diggin’ the REX. I wonder if LEGO Snake would shit his pants after seeing these monsters of war.
