This is pretty awesome. I’ll be honest. I’m not a huge follower of designer/urban vinyl toys, but I’m still a fan. I’m especially a fan of customized Dunny figures. It’s always impressive to see an artist take a blank Dunny (usually available in a flat black or white) and turn it into something incredible. Well, this is the case with Mexico City resident artist, Arturo Ramirez R. who took a 3 inch blank and turned it into ‘TRON: Legacy’ baddie, CLU. If you know anything about me, it is that I love TRON. Arturo used flat black paint to give the body a nice texture and painted the visor as well (originally, I thought it might be a reflective decal). Unfortunately, the beautiful line art work that he did on CLU Dunny is not glow-in-the-dark, but its still very awesome. I really love the mini-Identity Disc made for this Dunny. Like most custom Dunny, these aren’t for sale in stores. Shucks…

Designer brand and urban vinyl toy producer extraoidinare, Kidrobot hooked up with the masterminds behind Futurama (Matt Groening and David X. Cohen) to design and produce a limited edition series of miniatures based on the characters from Futurama. These little figures are about 3 inches tall and are designed as a super deformed version of the characters. Unfortunately, like many Kidrobot miniatures, these adorable Futurama figures will be sold in blind boxes (blind boxes mean that you won’t know which one you will be getting).
