doctorwhoinforgraphic

I love infographics. Especially when its feature original artwork. UK artist, Bob Canada created this impressive infographic featuring all the various Doctors from the ‘Doctor Who’ series. Not only do you get a nice illustration of each Doctor, we also get a brief fun fact about each of them. I wish I had this infographic last year when I spent two hours trying to explain Doctor Who to my wife (who never got it…). A visual aid makes everything easier!  Is it just me or does the Eleventh Doctor (played by Matt Smith) oddly has a huge nose and looks very sleepy in this illustration?

starwarsmashupposters00

It seems like a mash-up kind of day today. Graphic artist, Matthew Ranzetta created these pretty awesome mash-up posters of classic movies such as ‘Cool Hand Luke’ and ‘The Princess Bride’ with a ‘Star Wars’ twist. Ranzetta’s simple designs makes these poster quite cool. My favorite definitely has to be ‘Rebel Without a Cause’. I would think Han Solo would be more fitting of that title, but what do I know? Illustrator, Mattias Adolffson of Sweden specializes in baroque-style (a popular art form from the 16-18th century) art and his love of baroque has lead him to reimagine the world of Star Wars in baroque form. If you’re still confused about what baroque is, think of it as something similar to steampunk. If you don’t know what steam punk is, I urge you to go hit up Wikipedia. Mattias has created an array of beautifully designed illustrations of the Death Star, Darth Vader, Chewbacca, Jabba the Hutt, Stormtroopers, and more. Mattias’ delightful designs gives each Star Wars character an unique and whimsical twist. Personally, I think the best of the series would have to be Boba Fett and Jabba. It’s always the baddies that look the coolest!

If you are an avid fan of comics, you should know the insignia, AH!. AH! of course is the signature tag of comic artist, Adam Hughes. Adam Hughes has been a huge fan favorite due to his uncanny ability to draw extraordinarily sexy and voluptuous female characters. Personally, as an avid fan of comic book art, Adam Hughes would be definitely considered as the Norman Rockwell of the comic book world. AH!’s recent stint on DC ComicsCatwoman and Wonder Woman has been very popular among comic and art enthusiasts. It looks like game designer, SEGA recognized this as well, as SEGA recently commissioned AH! to draw Bayonetta from their highly popular shoot’em up game of the same name. Considering, Bayonetta was already a dead sexy character just on her own, but with the AH! twist, she is mouth watering sexy. Oh, how I envy you Mr. Hughes.

2009119zombiesvampire

Sometimes discovering something so awesome, but finding out its too late is one of the worst feelings in the world. Yesterday, art/illustration inspired apparel company, Shirt.Woot featured a bitchin’ t-shirt that mashed up three things I love. Those three things are zombies, vampires, and robots (who doesn’t love zombies, vampires, and robots). Unfortunately, the shirt was sold out before I came across the design and this lead into weeping. Due to the fact that I was floored by the illustration, I did some digging to find out who designed this lovely piece. This incredible illustration, named “Zombie Vampire Robots from Space!” was beautifully created by Benjamin Douglass. Benjamin is a full time professional designer and illustrator and he does projects for various companies for advertisement and marketing campaigns, however his personal illustrations are the most creative and humourous. I always feared about a robot invasion or a zombie apocalypse enslaving the human race, but thanks to Mr. Douglass, now I fear zombie vampire robots from space. Hopefully, this won’t be the first and only design from Ben featuring zombies, vampires, and robots.

You can check out Benjamin’s work on his website at benjamindouglass.com and follow him on Twitter at @bennyd302
