“I’ll be unemployed if the Death Star’s destroyed” – Stormtrooper

Following up to the very popular “Star Wars Gangsta Rap” and “Star Wars Gangsta Rap: Special Edition”, Atom has released the “Star Wars Gangsta Rap: Chronicles”. As usual, Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker, Emperor Palpatine and the Imperial Stormtroopers are spittin’s lyrics just like before, but Chronicles brings new characters with their sick rhymes such as Princess Leia, Lando, and more. Even if your not a fan of Star Wars, you should still watch it to see Michael Jackson “moonwalk” into a Rancor’s pit. HILARIOUS! Atom’s Star Wars Gangta Rap: Chronicles is also the first finalist in the 2010 Star Wars Fan Movie Challenge. Keep up the great work homies!

Darth Vader looks “well done”…

Nothing makes me “geek out” more than geek themed cakes, especially when it comes to Star Wars themed sweets. That might be why I almost fell out of my chair when I came across this Darth Vader cake on flickr. Michelle and Vinny Garcia of Bleeding Heart Bakery (located in Chicago, Illinois) has a unique way of designing and baking cakes. Bleeding Heart Bakery’s cakes can be best described as a beautiful mixture of punk rock and whimsy. What’s also really cool about BHB is their passion to create cakes using only 100% organic ingredients. BHB is the first and only USDA certified organic bakery in the States. I’ve seen a ton of Darth Vader cakes, but this is the first cake I’ve seen where Vader’s helmet is off. It seems like molding and decorating Darth Vader’s helmet would be tough enough, but to recreate Anakin’s scorched and scarred head (that he suffered on planet Mustafar for doing a stupid back flip while fighting Obi-Wan) in cake form seems near impossible. Bleeding Heart Bakery did it and did it well. Geez, Anakin’s head looks crispy… kind of like bacon…

Check out Bleeding Heart Bakery at their official website or their flickr page. Also, you can follow BHB on Twitter at @bleeding_heart.

20091005starwarspumpkin

Gawd damn I love October and Halloween! It was a matter of time before Star Wars jack-o-lantern pictures were going to start flooding on the web. An arts and crafts store in Roseville, Minnesota had on display a life size statue of Darth Vader and Jedi Master Yoda made of carved and painted pumpkins. Other than the perverse way that Lord Vader is holding his lightsaber and that fact that it looks like someone punched him right in the face, my hat helmet off to the artist. It was a good try.
