troopers

I feel like I really dropped the ball when I didn’t know about CollegeHumor’s original web series, ‘Troopers’ until last night. Troopers follows the tale of two “Stormtrooper-like” soldiers and their life on a “Death Star-like” space station in a “Star Wars-like” universe. Get it? Unfortunately, you don’t have to be too bright to work to be a Trooper. The job of holding and interrogating a Princess who is leading the rebellion is left to the same hands that deliver the coffee and pastries in the morning. Troopers almost reminds me of the hilarious back and forth banter that we came to enjoy from ‘Red Vs Blue’ from Rooster Teeth. What makes this series even better is that the loveable and witty Aubrey Plaza (Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World, Parks and Recreations) stars in the series as the Princess. So far, there has been four episode released by CollegeHumor titled, “Forcefield”, “Mind Trick”, “Coffee Run”, and “Interrogation”. If you are a die-hard ‘Star Wars’ fan, you will definitely find some enjoyment from this series.

This fall, from visionary director Wes Anderson… and visionary Asian guy, Shigeru Miyamoto…

Well done College Humor. Well done. CH’s newest parody is based on director Wes Anderson’s highly acclaimed stop-motion animated movie, ‘Fantastic Mr. Fox’ which was loosely adapted from the book by the same name by author, Roald Dahl. The parody follows “Fantastic Mr. Star Fox” who struggles to “find himself” in a much needed soul searching, All this goes on while he is fighting for his life while battling evil forces. As usual, CH did an amazing job in the animation and voice acting. I can actually believe that George Clooney and Bill Murray were lending their voices for this parody. As I mentioned before, well done College Humor. Well done.

The Jedi have returned, returned, returned…

The funny and talented bastards over at College Humor created an amazing parody mash-up of Star Wars and Jay-Z’s song, “Empire State of Mind” featuring songstress, Alicia Keys. Dubbed the “Galactic Empire State of Mind“, Darth Vader raps about his epic tale during New Hope, Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi. Supporting Vader’s spin on Jay-Z’s rhymes is Princess Leia singing the part of Alicia Keys. Considering the very clever use of Star Wars in the lyrics, there are elegant ballerina-like Rebel pilots, b-boy Stormtroopers, pop-lockin’ Chewbacca, and more. Even those bastard Ewoks makes an appearance. This amazing video by College Humor will definitely be a classic!

Beware of the adorable, homicidal lamps.

I knew this was going to happen sooner or later. Pixar’s infamous desk lamp mascot’s constant brutal attacks on the letter “I” has finally taken its toll and now Luxo Jr. must pay for his crimes. Does the death sentence seem suitable for the crime committed? I sure think so. Luxo killed a beloved vowel for gawd sakes! I say give you letter killer the chair and get it over with. John Lasseter must be crying after realizing what kind of monster he has created all those years ago. It’s always the bright ones that turn out to be screwed up in the end (see what I did there? Yeah, I’m lame). Hit the jump to see the crime AND punishment in action.
