Couple days ago, we featured some first looks at the characters of Slant 6 Games and Capcom’s ‘Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City’. Now, we get a first hand look at the gameplay in the official Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City trailer. Unlike many video games of late who rely on heavy amounts of CGI animation to sell their games, Capcom got down and dirty and made a pretty cool trailer just with various clips from the game. All I can say is that I’m impressed and very excited about the new game. I has the same feel as a co-op military game (maybe because Slant 6 is the guys behind ‘SOCOM’) and Left 4 Dead. I’ve been a fan of the Resident Evil games for some time, but I do think Operation Raccoon City is going to be something special. Hopefully, the storyline will be just as great cause I’m not a fan of shallow RPG games with no solid story.

‘Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City’ to be out for XBox 360, Playstation 3, and PC at the end of this year. Hit the jump and check out the trailer for ‘Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City’. Beware of the cameo at the end of the trailer. It’s a hoot!

It was recently announced that Canadian game developer, Slant Six (The team behind SOCOM) and Capcom will be releasing a new installment in the ‘Resident Evil’ saga called ‘Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City’. Unlike in previous RE games, Operation Raccoon City will let gamers play an elite division of Umbrella Security Services whos main task is to clean up any messes that the Umbrella Corporation may cause in Raccoon City. The game will be set in September 1998, when the T-virus outbreak first happened and will take place during the events of Resident Evil 2 and 3. Think of it as playing the same story but from the baddie’s point of view. RE:ORC will feature a four player co-op mode (that I’m excited about) that will let your team take on the undead and also an opposing US Special Ops team that were sent by the US government to expose the Umbrella Corp. That sounds pretty cool! Due to the fact that RE:ORC will take place during RE2 and RE3, a rookie police officer by the name of Leon Kennedy will be popping in here and there.

If everything stays on track, you can expect ‘Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City’ to be out for XBox 360, Playstation 3, and PC at the end of this year. Hit the jump and check out a small glimpse into the crew of “Operation Raccoon City”

20090827phoenixwrightmusicalPhoenix Wright: Ace Attorney (known as Gyakuten Saiban Yomigaeru Gyakuten in Japan) has been a popular video game series ever since it was first released in 2001 from Capcom. Originally released for Nintendo’s Game Boy Advance, Phoenix Wright’s popularity produced multiple spin-offs and sequels such as Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Justice of All and Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney.

For those of you that have never played Phoenix Wright, Phoenix Wright is an interactive visual novel-type video game where you follow “ace attorney”, Phoenix Wright (known as Ryuichi Naruhodo in Japan) who is a rookie defense attorney at Fey and Co. Law Offices. Throughout the game, you will follow and assist Phoenix as he collects clues and evidence to defend his client in court. Gameplay takes place both outside and inside the court while the narration switches from first to third person pending on the situation.

Phoenix Wright has such a huge fan following that an all-female actress & singer troupe called Takarazuka Revue (the women play both male and female roles), has adapted Phoenix Wright into a musical that features mystery and romance. Named after the english title, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney the Musical started performances in February 2009.

While it may be saddening for those of you that wish to see the musical, but cannot make it to Japan, do not worry. YouTube community member, GKKLJapan was kind enough to translate and subtitle the musical into English. So, go grab a snack and put up your feet and watch this musical masterpiece with crazy hair and eyebrows.
