We’ve got violent decompression radiating from the port flight pod…

Okay… Somebody must have been listening into my prayer because I might have found one of the sexiest videos ever online. The video features the ever so lovely, Katee Sackhoff (@kateesackhoff) who played Kara “Starbuck” Thrace in ‘Battlestar Galactica’. I know what you might be thinking and unfortunately, I have to let you down. The video doesn’t feature Katee naked or anything like that. The thing that makes this video so gosh darn sexy is the fact that she is featured in the video talking about a toy (not a sex toy, you pervs…).

Couple weeks ago, we featured an awesome ‘Battlestar Galactica’ Mark II Viper Artisan Replica by Quantum Mechanix. This amazing limited edition replica (priced at $1499.95 each) is probably the greatest BSG Viper collectible to ever be made and we also mentioned before that the replica will come in two different editions. One for Commander Adama and one for Starbuck in which both will be signed and number by the actor. Well, Edward James Olmos, who played Adama in Battlestar Galactica recruited the help of Katee Sackhoff to spread the word about this amazing collectible by creating a video. In this video, Katee recounts her days on the set of Battlestar Galactica and some of the fun (and hellish) experiences she went through filming inside the Mark II Viper prop. Along with that, she guides us on a tour of the Mark II Viper replica by showing us all the bells and whistles that the collectible has to offer. The funniest part of the video has to be at the end where it’s a behind-the-scenes look at Olmos showing and directing Katee before they shot the video. I don’t know why, but I was completely impressed with how excited Olmos was about the replica and how intrigued Katee looked while Olmos was pointing out all the features. If I was a rich man, I would have been sold on this collectible as soon as I saw Katee speak, but unfortunately, the Empire pays like shit.

Hit the jump and check out the video featuring Katee Sackhoff and Edward James Olmos!

Holy smokes this is so wicked! Quantum Mechanix busted onto the collectible scene with their rad replicas and character goods. One of the things I love about QMx (thats what the cool kids call Quantum Mechanix) is their awesome variety of licensed merchandise they produce. They make stuff for awesome movies and television series such as ‘Star Trek’, ‘Doctor Who’, and ‘Firefly’. QMx next big release is the bad ass Mark II Viper from ‘Battlestar Galactica’!

Action Stations, Nuggets! The Vipers Are Launching!
Now you can join the fight against the Cylons with this frakkin’ awesome Viper Mark II Artisan Replica from QMx. Our 1:18 scale filming-quality miniature is being offered in three editions: Adama Edition, Starbuck Edition and Fleet Edition. The limit has been set for 500 replicas per edition. The QMx Viper Mark II Artisan Replica boasts a cockpit chock full of hand-cut details, including gauges, data screens, throttle, ejection seat, and seat belts with fabric belts and metalized buckles. But the pièce de résistance of the QMx Viper is the active, working DRADIS – a 9/16” OLED (organic light-emitting diode) video display of the remote sensing system in action, displaying the actual DRADIS video used in Battlestar Galactica. The canopy can be opened for an optimal view of the cockpit and this first-ever digital model effect. In addition, the ship’s three rear engines feature a pulsating lighting effect that is randomized using a white-noise generator. It takes our artisans about 50 hours to hand assemble the 140 parts that go into this spirited fighter, hand layering 18 different colors of paint, and adding special decals and hand-painted stencils.

There will be three different editions. The “Adama Edition” will be signed by Edward James Olmos, the “Starbuck Edition” will be signed by Katee Sackoff, and the “Fleet Edition” will allow you to customize your very own Viper with the call sign of your favorite Viper pilot like Commander Lee “Apollo” Adama. You can even make your own name and callsign for an extra fee. The only problem is that this monster collectible is $1499.95! Hot damn! Start saving your lunch money kids!

I find this pretty cool and confusing as hell. Chicago resident art director/graphic designer, Billy Ray decided to create a pretty complex, but simplified visual map of all the major events that took place in the ‘Battlestar Galactica’ universe. Titled, “Battlestar Galactica: Space & Time”, this infographic includes evens such as the settlement of the humans on the “Twelve Colonies” and when the colonies were infiltrated by the “skinjobs”.

I created this visual time line of the Battlestar Galactica universe after the season 4, episode 17 “No Exit” data dump resulted in near aneurism for my friends and me. I later updated it to include key points from the “Caprica” pilot movie.

This is pretty interesting and I think I need to go back to the beginning and watch BSG again to see if the infographic is correct or not. I had a hard time getting into ‘Caprica’, so I’m just going to take Billy’s word for it. Click the above image to enlarge for a better look!

This is a t-shirt I can really get behind. For fans of ‘Battlestar Galactica’ and sports, BustedTees has a pretty awesome tee of Caprica based pyramid team, “The Caprica City Buccaneers”. I can really imagine Samuel Anders sporting one of these t-shirts before the game. I really enjoy t-shirts like these a lot because it really takes a diehard BSG fan to know what the t-shirt is about… or at least someone that paid attention to all the details in the series anyways.

You can pick up on at BustedTees’ online store for $16.99! Hit the jump to take a closer look at the design.

Okay now. It seems like everything this week has something to do with videos. Break is well known for their hilarious parodies and their newest gift to the world is a parody of Enrique Iglesias’ song, “Tonight (I’m Fuckin’ You)”. Don’t look at me. Blame Enrique for that crude song title. Anyways, titled “Tonight, I’m Frakking You”, the music video is about a Star Wars Trekkie geek that find himself in a nightclub where he is pretty much trying to hump anything that moves and doesn’t have a wang. It’s pretty funny even though he’s wearing a mash-up cosplay of a Jedi Knight and a Vulcan (blasphemy…). Like a lot of hip-hop/R&B videos, Frakking You doesn’t disappoint. It has it’s fair share of cameos such as Alessandra Torressani, who played Zoe Graystone on ‘Caprica’, Richard Hatch from the original ‘Battlestar Galactica’, and Amy Okuda from ‘The Guild’ who ends up getting blasted in the mouth by the guy’s “web”. Yeah, its pretty crude. I’m sorry. The best part has to be Kunal Nayyar rapping in the video. Kunal, as you may know plays Raj Koothrappali on ‘The Big Bang Theory’. Even with the powers of the Jedi and Vulcan, the guy still fucks up at the end of the night and get no booty. Well, not the kind he was looking for anyway.

201004vipercar

I saw this little bad ass car on The Chive recently. and I can’t help but be impressed. Master mechanic/fabricator Dean Shorey of Rochester, New York  created this Colonial Viper Starfighter from Battlestar Galactica out of a old United States Postal Service vehicle. Dean Shorey is a huge fan of the original Battlestar Galactica series and wanted to create something to pay tribute to his love. Equipped with a small block Chevy V8, this Cyclon blasting Viper is running a V8 engine and was built to be street legal!!! Mr. Shorey is a ride mechanic at Seabreeze Amusement Park (as pictured behind the Viper-car), and due to his dedication to keeping the rides safe, him and crew have a lot of spare time on their hands. I’m a huge fan of the newest BSG, and not too familiar with the original, but I do love the new Vipers. Its a bit more battle-tested and grungy lookin’. Maybe driving this Viper V8 through some trash cans and mud will get it to the point where it needs to be to look like the new Vipers. This little baddie was made back in 2006, but this epic vehicle HAS to be mentioned for BSG fans to appreciate and drool over. Now I have to ask… does it come in black? (sorry… that was pretty lame)

Battlestar Babes. Tricia Helfer & Grace Park Set Phasers to Sexy…. (WTF!)

As long as I could remember, I’ve been collecting magazines that have featured cool covers for sci-fi or fantasy movies and televisions show. Thanks for scifiwired.com, I will be camping the local 7-11 for the November issue to Maxim magazine. Gracing the cover of Maxim will be Tricia Helfer and Grace Park of Battlestar Galactica (the newer one. If it was the original, that would be awkward as hell…). We all know that Tricia and Grace played cylon hotties, Six and Boomer (if you didn’t know, I really hate you) on BSG (thats what we cool kids call it), and even though the series came to an end this year, the lovely ladies are strutting their stuff. Battlestar Galactica was an epic story that will be a fan favorite for many years to come. I am pretty sure Tricia and Grace will have hordes of lovestruck geeks (and drooling stalkers) following them to every convention that they appear at. If its a bit odd to you for the reason why Maxim would be featuring BSG on their cover after the series ended, the reason may be because the prequel to BSG, Caprica will be premiering in 2010 (and if you didn’t know THAT, I hate you even more).

I still don’t get why Maxim used a Star Trek reference for their caption on the cover. I just don’t give a crap if you noted in perentacies. Its still stupid.

Side note: Yes. You are right. I only made this blog post so I can shamelessly put up pictures of purrdy girls. I LOVE YOU SIX!

Hit the jump to see more from the issue!
