GREAT SCOTT! I usually save my posts for the mornings, but I couldn’t resist after coming upon some awesome ‘Back to the Future’ news. Earlier today, Frank Marshall (@ledoctor) (the executive producer behind Back the Future) tweeted:

“Something big is coming soon. Can’t say anything yet. No one should know too much about their own destiny. #BTTF”

Of course, a lot of people thought it was going to be announcement regarding a reboot to ‘Back to the Future’, but we knew it was highly unlikely it was going to happen. Later in the evening, we still got some exciting news in form of a teaser video on Youtube by “DocEmmettBrown88″. Titled, “McFly’s Closet”, the video shows an impressive room filled with rows and rows of the iconic Nike sneakers from ‘Back to the Future II’ that Marty McFly wears. If you weren’t aware, last year Nike announced that they patented the concept and plans for a self-lacing shoe using technology that uses an automatic ankle cinching system. Well, I guess it worked out as Nike has announced a super-secret event taking place in Los Angeles tomorrow (September 8th) hosted by world-renowed Nike shoe designer Tinker Hatfield. The select few (not me….) that is invited to the event was given a gift teasing the event. The gift was a pair of Doc Brown’s iconic shield glasses from the film in a black box with the Nike emblem embossed on top. On the sides of the shades reads the inscription, “It’s About Time“. From what we can assume from all the teasers here and there is that Nike is planning on revealing Marty McFly’s 2015 Nike MAG sneakers at the event. This is pretty amazing considering we are going to get them three to four years before the actual release date (FYI: It was 2015 in the film…). We won’t know the exact details until the event is over, but as a die-hard fan, I can only presume that Nike is planning on releasing these shoes (most likely in a limited edition run). All I can say is, “Do you have these in size 13 and please charge it on my credit card”. I’ll post more details once more info is available!

UPDATE: It has been announced that 1500 pairs of shoes will be auctioned on eBay with all net profits going to the Michael J. Fox Foundation. Click for more info

Los Angeles based illustrator, Reza Rasoli AKA rezatron (@rezatron) like to doodle zombies in his spare time. Reza takes some of our favorite pop culture iconic characters like Link from ‘Legend of Zelda’ and Marty from ‘Back to the Future’ and puts a nasty zombie spin on each one. While most “zombie” illustrations are gross and hideous, I find Reza’s zombies to be humorous and whimsical. There is something very endearing behind the blood and gore. You can see Reza’s various work on his website.

Roads? Where we’re going, we don’t need roads…

I find a Delorean Time Machine made of LEGOs to be quiet awesome. Based on the Delorean Time Machine from ‘Back to the Future II’ (the best of the three Deloreans in my opinion), Randy Sabourin of Gatineau, QC, Canada put together this Delorean with only LEGOs. It’s pretty awesome because just by looking at it, you would think this Delorean was something that wasn’t fan-made, but a kit you can buy at the toy store. I love the attention to detail from the license plate and Mr. Fusion Home Energy Reactor on the back to power the time machine. I really wish I could own this little Delorean, but knowing me, I’ll probably destroy it accidently from excitement.

If you ever read my posts and follow me on Twitter, you will know what a big Back to the Future trilogy fanatic I am. My childhood obsession of Back to the Future, Deloreans, and Barbie themed hover boards is part of who I am. I guess this was why I was blown away when I ran into this bitchin’ Back to the Future mods for Electronic ArtsCrysis and Crysis Wars. Whats really cool is the fact that this is no “re-skin” mod. You have the ability to time travel to the past and the future through a time flow graph. On top of that, you get the cool bells and whistles of the inside of the Delorean. Personally, I have never played any of teh Crysis games, but I am very curious to check this mod out. You can download the mod and try it yourself at crymod.

“Here’s a red letter date in the history of science, November 5th 1955…Yes of course, November 5th 1955. That was the day I invented time travel. I remember it vividly, I was standing on the  edge of my toilet hanging a clock, the porcelain was wet, I slipped, hit my head on the edge of the sink and when I came to I had a revelation… a vision..a picture in my head… a picture of this! This is what makes time travel possible, The Flux Capacitor!”

Back to the Future is my second favorite movie series of all time (right behind Star Wars of course…). Celebrate this day with the Back to the Future rap by Hotel Coral Essex. Its EPIC. Thanks to Zachary of Stupid Inventors for the heads up. Thank you to Doc for the gift of time travel.

Poor Jay Hubbard. Jay Hubbard is the Automotive Shop Manager of the National Automobile Museum in Nevada (thats a mouth full). While Jay is trying to show his expertise by explaining the features and history of the “Gold Delorean”, he is bombarded by the interviewer who asks one simple question… “Where’s the Flux Capacitor?”. Awkwardness ensues. Hit the jump to see the interview.
