High school is tough for a lot of kids. You kind of get lost in the mix with all the different personalities and cliques that you have to deal with on a daily basis. It’s pretty much social hell. What if you went to school which people that end up as some of the most notorious comic book heroes and villains of all time? Movie Clips Trailers decided to explore this idea in their newest mash-up trailer, Gotham High. I have seen a lot of “movie clip trailers” over the years, but I have to admit that Gotham High might be the most solid fan creation I have ever seen. It freakin’ works! I’m not a fan of teenage angst riddled romcoms, but I would definitely watch Gotham High.

FINALLY! Marvel Studios’ long awaited and delayed “Marvel’s Cinematic Universe: Phase One” box set finally has a release date. After being sued by a German luggage company over the metallic suitcase that the box set comes in, Marvel has finally cleared that out of the way by changing the case and is now ready to put out the Phase One box set on April 2, 2013. As announced before, the Phase One box set will include:

Limited edition S.H.I.E.L.D briefcase
Tesseract which interactively responds to motion
All six movies in collective artwork packaging
Bonus Blu-ray called The Phase One Archives with classified behind the scenes elements
The Avengers Initiative:  S.H.I.E.L.D recruitment files
  • Limited edition S.H.I.E.L.D briefcase
  • Tesseract which interactively responds to motion
  • All six movies in collective artwork packaging
  • Bonus Blu-ray called The Phase One Archives with classified behind the scenes elements
  • and The Avengers Initiative:  S.H.I.E.L.D recruitment files

This lawsuit driven delay might be a blessing in disguise. Marvel has announced that the box set will now include the first look at “Phase Two” in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. As you may know, the six films stretching from Iron Man to The Avengers is considered Phase One. Now, with Iron Man 3, Thor: The Dark World, Captain America: Winter Soldier, Ant-Man, Guardians of the Galaxy, and The Avengers 2 in the works, these films will be marked as Phase Two. The new and improved Phase One box set will also include special never-before-seen deleted scenes and alternate endings like from Thor as featured on EW. Even at the hefty price of $219, I think this is a must-have for any die hard Marvel fan.

I always wondered. HBO is probably the hottest network on television, but who actually uses HBO Go? There are a lot of people out there that want to watch Homeland and Game of Thrones without shelling out the dough for a HBO subscription and weaseling someone’s HBO Go access might best way to go about doing it, but how far does this criminal network of HBO Go sharing go? I currently pay for HBO, but I have never used HBO Go before. Why the hell would I want to watch Game of Thrones on my computer? I’ll take a 60 inch HD television screen any day.

The fine craftsmen at Quantum Mechanix just announced the release of a mini-pocket sized edition of the awesome Farnsworth device made famous on Warehouse 13! If you couldn’t pull the trigger and missed the chance to own the $400 full size replica, QMx will be releasing a 1:2 scale “keepsake” version for the low, low price of $69.95!

Be at the ready with this spectacular Mini Farnsworth Replica, just in case someone from Warehouse 13 calls this holiday season. It could be Artie, Pete, Myka, Claudia, Jinksy or maybe H.G. And you never want to be out of touch if it’s Mrs. Frederic!
This faithful re-creation* of the “vaudio” communications device used by agents on the hit Syfy series is a perfect keepsake.
At 1:2 scale, it measures approximately 2.5″ wide x 3.75″ long x .875″ deep when closed. Open the Mini Farnsworth Replica and you’ll see a very special caller onscreen. The mini-Fansworth will be a special “Black Friday” offer direct from QMx, but to make things more interesting, only 100 pieces will be available to buy. With that low limited edition run and that price, these are definitely a worthy investment for any hardcore Warehouse 13 fanatic. I just wish this thing can actually make calls because I would drop my iPhone in an instant if it could. I hope QMx gets some good feedback with this so they can make me a smaller and cheaper Tesla gun. Maybe Claudia’s mini-Tesla gun?

Some times, the fans really really surprise me. It surprises me what they can accomplish with a small budget and a lot of passion and creativity. You can see this passion in Gevorg Karensky’s personal project, “Grand Theft Auto: RISE”. Karensky created this amazing short film in honor of the release of the highly anticipated video game from Rockstar Games, Grand Theft Auto V.

A rise of an underground protagonist hero. He has a long path down a tunnel with no light at the end. Live action short film based on the Grand Theft Auto video game series created by Rockstar Games.
Please watch in HD and blast the VOLUME.

Oh yes, Gevorg. I DID watch this beautiful short film with the volume way, way, WAAAYYYYY up! What was really cool about GTA: Rise had to be that the chase sequence kind of reminded me of a mix the Tumbler and Joker chase in The Dark Knight and Sam Flynn’s Ducati chase in TRON: Legacy. There must be a compliment in there somewhere. The only complaint I have with Gevorg’s GTA: RISE has to be that I fucking want MORE. Somebody hook this guy with some funds so he can make this happen! You listening Rockstar Games?

Looks like The Lord of the Rings has now entered the world of high fashion. Odd-Style, a shop for “underground street style” apparel just released a collection of clothing inspired by the Nazgûl AKA Ringwraiths of The Lord of the Rings. Odd Style was able to capture the spooky nature of the Ringwraith’s cloak into a fashionable (and probably very comfortable) cloak and hoodie hybrid. I have to say that I would be down to wear such a cloak if I didn’t end up looking like a six foot Ringwraith that had one too many donuts. Now, I have to ask. Does this cloak come with a sword?

There something really fucked up and entertaining about this video by “Internet voiceman and jokesmith”, Brock Baker. E. L. James’ erotic novel, Fifty Shades of Grey has been all the rage lately and while the book is described as “porn with words”, I can’t help but not want to read it. Well, Brock decides to make this perv-literature entertaining by using his wide collection of impressions to read excerpts from the book. This is probably the closest I will get to reading that book… until the movie comes out. Yeah.
