A new member has joined the already growing cast of James Gunn‘s Guardians of the Galaxy. This time, beautiful British actress, Ophelia Lovibond has joined the film in an unspecified role. You might not know Lovibond, but you might recognize her in the role in Mr. Popper’s Penguins with Jim Carrey and in No Strings Attached with Natalie Portman. The role that Lovibond will be playing is roughly described as:

Details of Lovibond’s role are scarce but it is known that she will play an aide to a near-immortal being called The Collector, who gathers artifacts and beings in the hopes of saving them from a foretold galactic annihilation.

The only character I can imagine that Lovibond may fit in related to The Collector has to be his daughter, Carina Walters. It is interesting to see how Lovibond will fit into the already huge ensemble and we probably won’t know much until the film is deep into production.

Guardians of the Galaxy drops on August 1, 2014. Hit the jump for more pics of Ophelia Lovibond.

AMC and The Walking Dead has been putting out some creative limited edition box sets for their season blu-ray box sets. My favorite had to be the Walker head with the screwdriver going through it’s eye, but the box set they have planned for season three is mind blowing. The limited edition blu-ray box set will feature a replica of the “floating Walker head” aquarium that The Governor had inside his little man cave. What’s even cooler is that the box set looks to have light up features so you get to have a closer look at the Walker heads staring blankly back at you. I personally thought Hershel’s bloody foot stump would have been a cool box set as well. Maybe next time.

I have been one of the few that have dreaded the idea of Halle Berry making a return as Storm in Bryan Singer‘s X-Men: Days of the Future Past. Not because I didn’t like Halle Berry or Storm, but because her character in the X-Men films have always been the least interesting member in the team and has always been the odd-women out in the storyline. Well, even though I’m still on the fence about Storm in Days of the Future Past, at least she will look amazing. Bryan Singer tweeted a picture of Halle Berry as Storm in a brand new costume and hair style and I have to admit that she looks bad ass. Out goes the ugly leather uniform of the original trilogy and the jump suit of First Class. Storm is rocking a pretty sweet costume that kind of reminds me of Auntie Entity (Tina Turner) from Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome meets punk rock. At least, even if Storm continues to be the most boring character in the X-Men film franchise, she’s going to look spectacular doing it.

We all know that Michael Shannon is one crazy dude. Imagine what this guy with this face would be doing if he didn’t have a successful movie career. Now, he’s playing General Zod in Zack Snyder‘s Man of Steel and we can all expect that Michael Shannon’s insanity will bleed through the screen and into our faces. Well, Funny or Die is using that ferocity for good in a little video of Shannon reading the infamous Delta Gamma Sorority email. Shit is about to hit the fan.

Director Alan Taylor has been keeping details regarding Thor: The Dark World close to his chest and we haven’t really gotten any good looks of the highly anticipated sequel. Well, now the first official pics (via USA Today) has been released and they look pretty magnificent. I love the new stylized dress of Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and Jane Foster (Natalie Portman). The dress is a bit more real world and it’s so shiny and clean like in Kenneth Branaugh‘s Thor. It is obvious that Alan Taylor’s extensive work in Game of Thrones is translating well into The Dark World. Along with the images, a few details have been released by Kevin Feige and Hemsworth about the direction of the sequel. Feige comments on the relationship between Foster and Thor and those that challenge it. Feige also gave small details on the new threat, why Foster is in Asguard, Thor’s evolution as a fighter on screen, and the status of Loki (Tom Hiddleston). I’m pretty sure Loki is all you care about at this point. I won’t be diving into details to avoid spolers and you can find all the details posted at USA Today (link in post).

Thor: The Dark World drops on November 8, 2013. Hit the jump and check out more pics!

Damn you Comedy Central! Damn you to hell! EW has reported that our beloved space slapstick comedy, Futurama will not be renewed by Comedy Central for an eighth season. Comedy Central has once saved Futurama from cancellation from Fox, but now it looks the series has met it’s end. Series creator, Matt Groenig (The Simpsons) has commented that he will be shopping the series to other networks, but he would be satisfied if this was the end for the series. Don’t try yet fans. Comedy Central will still air the last half of season seven (13 episodes), so we have a couple months of new Futurama before Comedy Central shoots it out into space. You will be missed Futurama. Your witty comedy is unmatched.

Maybe Futurama can find some life online? Probably not.

The first official pictures of two key players in Marc Webb‘s Amazing Spider-Man 2 has been released! First up, Marc Webb tweeted the first image of Jaime Foxx as Maxwell Dillon before his transformation into Electro. From the looks of it, Dillon is mapping out the origins of Spider-Man and it’s obvious that from the look of his face, that his character has some age to him. Also, the clothes that Dillon is wearing also seems to look like a worker’s uniform so it is possible that Webb’s version of Electro will follow the origin story and make Dillon an electrical worker with aspirations to become an electrical engineer before his ill faith with a bolt of lightning. This is all speculation of course. The second picture was tweeted by Dane DeHaan of DeHaan (Chronicles) as Harry Osbourne. Looks like DeHaan cleaned up real nice for the entitled rich boy with self-esteem and daddy issues.

Amazing Spider-Man 2 drops May 2, 2014. Hit the jump and check out more pics.
