I guess there are some truth to all rumors roaming around Hollywood. In the latest “Iron Man 3” issue to Entertainment Weekly, Marvel Studios head honcho, Kevin Feige has confirmed that in the latest draft for Avengers 2, Joss Whedon does have the mutant sibling powerhouse, Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch in the film. Of course, Feige is not confirming or denying the report that has mentioned that “the draft could change six months from now”. Regardless, it is very exciting to see the addition of two very complex characters in the Avengers. Two characters with a very unique origin and they could add a dark element to the Avengers team. Feige has also mentioned that these two characters specifically can be used by both Marvel Studios and 21st Century Fox. Marvel may use Quiksilver and Scarlet Witch in their Avengers films with no mention of their relations to Magneto and Fox can use the mutant siblings in their films with no mention of their association to the Avengers. Regardless of the fine print, it seems that there is a definite grey area. It is too early for casting news for the roles, but who would you like to see as Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch? I would love to see Alexander Skarsgård as Quicksilver and Rooney Mara as Scarlet Witch. They don’t have to be twins in the movies right?

The filming for Anthony Russo and Joe Russo‘s Captain America: The Winter Soldier is underway and thanks to a few bastard set spies, we get our first look at newcomer, Anthony Mackie (Adjustment Bureau, Pain & Gain) as The Falcon! From the looks of it, The Falcon will be dressed in a more utilitarian/military uniform similar to Hawkeye’s in The Avengers than the flashy winged suit in the comics. As you can see, Mackie is doing some green screen work and he does indeed look silly.
