Wow. Seriously… WOW! Remember that scene from ‘Fanboys’ where the pimp shows off his tattoo of Jar Jar Binks doing a gangsta pose with young Anakin all based on the hype of ‘The Phantom Menace’. Well, I guess this kind of shit actually happens in real life. Some Bane lovin’ bastard decided to get a large tattoo on his bicep of Bane from Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ played by Tom Hardy. I mean, come on! The internet has in buzzin’ over how weird the whole concept of Bane’s odd headpiece is. Even though we would trust our first born child to Christopher Nolan, the Bane costume was hard to swallow. Well I guess this guy was going to jump and gun and get this done regardless whether Bane turns out to be trash or not. I can’t decide if this is fake or not, but if it’s real, I applaud you for you balls and ask that you seek some help.

Geek Decore: Straight From the “Church of Batman”

What if… What if there is a church that worships the heroes of comic books? I can tell you that I would go ever damn Sunday and never miss a single mass. At the moment, there is not “Church of the Bat” or “Church of X”, but we might just have an idea of what it might be like inside such a church. Etsy seller, FayProduction offers a very cool decal print of various characters from Batman and X-Men designed to imitate stained glass. You can get some of these magnificent prints and stick it on your window to make instant stained glass murals. I think my favorite of the bunch has to be Alfred. ‘The Hunger Games’ Teaser Trailer Makes Me Hungry for ‘The Hunger Games’

mmmmm…  I hate MTV’s Video Music Awards, BUT I did sit through as much as possible to catch the first teaser for ‘The Hunger Games’. Directed by Gary Ross (Pleasantville/Seabiscuit), ‘The Hunger Games’ is based on the popular “Hunger Games Trilogy” by Suzanne Collins.

In a not-too-distant future, North America has collapsed, weakened by drought, fire, famine, and war to be replaced by Panem, a country divided into the Capitol and 12 districts. Each year two young representatives from each district are selected by lottery to participate in The Hunger Games. Part entertainment, part brutal intimidation of the subjugated districts, the televised games are broadcast throughout Panem. As the 24 participants are forced to eliminate their competitors, literally, with all citizens required to watch. When 16-year-old Katniss’ young sister, Prim, is selected as the mining district’s female representative, Katniss volunteers to take her place. She and her male counterpart Peeta, will be pitted against bigger, stronger representatives who have trained for this their whole lives.

After feverishly waiting for the teaser, I have to say that I like what I see after actually seeing Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) in action. Like most teasers, it’s short and basically a cock tease, but I can sleep easier knowing that ‘The Hunger Games’ is going to be pretty bad ass. ‘The Hunger Games’ opens March 23, 2012.

Eye Candy: What If ‘Star Wars’ Was in Our History Books?

We all had world history at one time or another while going to school. I have fond memories of learning about the various wars throughout history in class. I remember looking at hundreds of photos from different wars such as World War II and imagine what it might have been like if I was there. Well, what if the different factions of ‘Star Wars’ participated in various wars throughout history? Can you imagine seeing Imperial AT-AT walkers fighting alongside infantry units and tanks and seeing TIE fighters soar through the sky chasing down spitfire fighter planes? Now, that would have made class much more interesting.

OMGWTFBBQ! Not Even Hurricane Irene Can Keep Spider-Man Off the Beach

The dangers of a hurricane is no joke, but for some, the risk is acceptable just to make people laugh. This is the case for an unknown citizen of Hampton, VA. who decided to go kick it at the beach during Hurricane Irene as your friendly neighborhood, Spider-Man! Donning a pretty decent lookin’ costume of good ole’ web-head, this cosplayer spent the day at the beach catching waves while the rest of the city was in mass panic looting stores for jars of peanut butter and canned tuna. Even though his intentions were to make people laugh and help lessen the stress of the hurricane, the mysterious cosplayer did admit that he was “not being that smart today”. Regardless, I applaud for your bravery and stupidity!

The Leaked ‘Locke & Key’ Trailer is a Sad Reminder of What Could Have Been…

Hearts dropped when it was announced that Fox has decided not to pick up the series, ‘Locke & Key’. Based on the comic series written by Joe Hill and illustrated by Gabriel Rodriguez, there was much hype behind the project by both the studio and loyal fans of the comic. After Fox dropped the series and after months of shopping the project to other networks, it has become obvious that the series was dead before it even got started. During SDCC 2011, fans were treated to a special screening of the pilot episode (even though the series was already dropped months before). Well, thanks to a leak on the web, we get to see the trailer for ‘Locke & Key’. From what I see, the series looks amazing and the production value is top notch. Too bad we only get a small taste of what could have been and will have to wait to see if any brave soul will be willing to pick up the project. Maybe a full length feature? I hope.

Whats cool about these PVC ensembles has to be that the light strips “charges” when exposed to bright lights. These might not exactly be something that came out of TRON, but you get the picture.
