Sometimes discovering something so awesome, but finding out its too late is one of the worst feelings in the world. Yesterday, art/illustration inspired apparel company, Shirt.Woot featured a bitchin’ t-shirt that mashed up three things I love. Those three things are zombies, vampires, and robots (who doesn’t love zombies, vampires, and robots). Unfortunately, the shirt was sold out before I came across the design and this lead into weeping. Due to the fact that I was floored by the illustration, I did some digging to find out who designed this lovely piece. This incredible illustration, named “Zombie Vampire Robots from Space!” was beautifully created by Benjamin Douglass. Benjamin is a full time professional designer and illustrator and he does projects for various companies for advertisement and marketing campaigns, however his personal illustrations are the most creative and humourous. I always feared about a robot invasion or a zombie apocalypse enslaving the human race, but thanks to Mr. Douglass, now I fear zombie vampire robots from space. Hopefully, this won’t be the first and only design from Ben featuring zombies, vampires, and robots.

Admit it boys (and girls). At one time in your life, you have fell in love or at least had a small crush on a fictional character from a cartoon or a video game. Maybe it was Count Chocula from your morning cereal box. Who knows? It has happened to all of us. Japan has always been known for their crazed fans and serious obsession of their animated female characters. One guy has taken his love to another level. He fell in love with his virtual girlfriend named Nene Anagasaki in a video game called Love Plus. Love Plus is currently the “big game” for Konami in Japan. It was made for the Nintendo DS hand held system and which was pretty much a game that simulates living with a virtual girlfriend. It looks like moving in with a virtual girlfriend has lead to the next big step in their “relationship”. The otaku (is a Japanese term used to refer to people with obsessive interests, particularly anime, manga, and video games) took his virtual girlfriend to Guam and married her in a small chapel in the Pacific Islands. The newlywed couple is planning to have their reception back in Japan to celebrate their marriage. Their reception will be covered by local press and the event will also be broadcast online via NicoNico Douga (a popular Japanese video sharing website like YouTube). I don’t know how long this marriage is going to last, but we can only wish them the best. He better keep that DS recharged or his new wife will completely be turned off. (that was lame…)

The chaotic event called the Twilight New Moon movie release is upon us and the massive amount of Twilight themed merchandise releasing this month is violently beating us on our heads. Earlier this month, toy manufacturer Mattel released their Twilight inspired Bella Swan and Edward Cullen Barbie dolls. They seem to be a hit as many online retailers are sold out and stores such as Target only has a few piece left on their shelves. Well, the insanity of a Twilight and Barbie mash up is not over. Online toys and collectibles retailer Entertainment Earth just released images (and taking pre orders) of the next Twilight Barbie doll. Getting the “Barbie” treatment this time will be Jacob Black. Unlike Edward and Bella Barbie, Jacob is a bit less covered up. Rather than going with the regular long haired and grungy Jacob that we saw in Twilight, Mattel chose to go with the more clean up and topless version of Jacob that you see in the New Moon trailers. Mattel might not have the likeness of Taylor Lautner down, but they did stick a tattoo on his arm and put him in a pair of frayed cut off jean shorts. A tattoo and cut off jeans short must scream Jacob Black right? Right…? Maybe a name tag on his chiseled chest that says “Hi! I’m Jacob Black from the movie New Moon which is a sequel to the blockbuster, Twilight in which was a movie adaptation of a novel by author Stephanie Meyers. Also, I lost my shirt because I tore it off in the name of passion” might help. On the other hand, a standard packaging with his name would suffice. Regardless, Team Jacob fans will be pleased. I’m just a bit scared with the picture as Jacob Barbie seems to be staring right into my soul…

Jacob Black Barbie will be in stores in February 2010. Oh yeah… when the hell am I going to get a good Alice Cullen figure made? Huh?!

Where to buy: Order Twilight Jacob Black Barbie Doll from Entertainment Earth!

Square Enix wants to rule the gaming world. If Square Enix can’t do it with their games, they are going to do it with their merchandise line. If you are a fan of Final Fantasy or Kingdom Hearts, you would have seen or bought an action figure with the label, Square Enix Products. What people don’t know is that majority of the earlier Square Enix brand figures was designed by SQEX and produced by figure/statue manufacturer, Kotobukiya. It wasn’t until mid last year that SQEX started producing their own. Since that moment, SQEX has taken their identity as a figure designer to another level. SQEX has only be known for making figures for their own games only, however recently Capcom has enlisted the help of SQEX Products to produce figures for Resident Evil 5. Couple people have seen the cool Play Arts ~Kai versions of Chris Redfield and Sheva. Apparently, this is not the end of SQEX producing bitchin’ figures outside of their games. Square Enix premiered the first look of their new Play Arts ~Kai action figures of Dante and Nero from Capcom’s Devil May Cry 4 and Bayonetta and Jeanne from Sega’s Bayonetta. With the recent change of  Eidos into Square Enix Europe, is it possible that we will see a Lara Croft get the Play Arts ~Kai treatment? I certainly hope so! It is very possible that Square Enix currently designs some of the greatest video game related action figures not only in Japan, but in the world. Im currently drooling over the Bayonetta.

This was bound to happen. If you are a fan of the Wii console system, you know how odd the first party motion sensor bar is. The little black strip kind of sits there and pretty much collects dust. It sticks out like a sore thumb on top of your television and its ugly. Thanks to Power A (a division of Bensussen Deutsch & Associates, Inc), you can dress the sensor bar up to look bad ass. With Lucas Art’s blessings, Power A will be producing a bitchin’ Star Wars themed motion sensor holder that looks like Darth Vader. The sensor bar fits right inside Vader’s signature red lightsaber. The Darth Vader sensor bar holder won’t be made of crummy color injected plastic either. These holders will be sculpted and produced in a light resin. Also, you won’t have to worry about the holder messing with the motion sensor has the design and material won’t hinder the hardware’s performance. As another bonus, the holder won’t cost you an arm and leg. The MSRP is only $39.99. Look out for it at your favorite video game/toy store soon.

Hit the jump to check out the holder up close and the official press release!
