Whoever Modified Power Wheels community member flux83’s kid is, you are one lucky boy. Daddy just built a heavily modified Power Wheel to resemble the M12 Light Reconnaissance Vehicle AKA “The Warthog” from Microsoft/Bungie’s Halo 3. Using Mattel’s Street Scene Silverado Bling Chevy Power Wheel (geez, that was a mouth full…), flux83 did some heavy customization and fabrication on the Warthog.
Fortunately, thanks to the folks at Bungie, we’re all that much more knowledgeable about the DIY Power Wheels modder set. All it took was one M12 Light Reconnaissance Vehicle–better known as the Warthog–fashioned from the guts of a Power Wheels miniature truck–a “very used 2001 G3740 Street Scene Silverado,” according to its creator.
flux83’s Warthog may not be powered by a 12.0 L liquid-cooled hydrogen-injected ICE, but it does have a pretty bad ass mini-replica M41 Light Anti-Aircraft gun mounted on the back to chase the neighborhood cats around. Well, at least I would… Hit the jump to see pictures/videos of flux83’s great mod!

If this Taiwan, you be dead.
Taiwan… Why are you so bad ass? In an attempt to promote and celebrate Taiwan’s Recruitment Center of National Armed Forces, Taiwan released a 60 second commercial featuring the country’s various armed forces such as the army, air force, and navy. To make it more interesting and “hip”, the commercial also features a ton of Transformer-like mechas. It is pretty obvious that this is a blatant rip-off of Michael Bay’s Transformers, but who gives a shit. I am only disappointed that the United States military didn’t think of this first. On a sidenote, if Taiwan DID have a fighting force of mechas, would they become a global military threat? I think not. If these mechas are anything like the toys or electronics Taiwan produces, most likely they will fall apart and crap out after two or three days. USA! USA! USA! Hit the jump to see this crazy commerical!

Last week’s Lego post, featuring the awesome Nathan Sawaya, was such a hit that I thought I’d try it out again.

Taj Mahal By Kevin Davis
Kevin Davis is an artist I’m fortunate enough to know personally, and I can tell you he’s a quirky and creative guy. Going to Kevin’s house, you notice subtle things. The perfect living room with the case of Nightmare Before Christmas Toys, the clean pool room with the giant thumb tack table.
These are the marks of an artist at play. Kevin is wrapping up a project called Refrigeratorville, a flash cartoon about a mysterious virus that is rotting all of the food in the fridge at a rapid rate. You can see the trailer for the project here.

Forget the past… the future is terminated…
I’m part of a very small percentage (like under 0.000158%) that actually kinda enjoyed McG’s Terminator Salvation. Don’t get me wrong. The story was TERRIBLE, but it did satisfy my Summer cravings for special effects, explosions, and robots. However, after today, I have to change my mind. Terminator Salvation was a terrible piece of crap that should have never been made! Why do you ask? Its because the creative minds at How It Should Have Ended released a short called “Terminator. How It Should Have Ended”. This little animated short literally is the greatest Terminator movie of… ALL… TIME…! I’m not going to be a jerk and spoil that short for you all, so just hit the jump, grab some pop corn, pop open a beer, and press play. You can thank me in the form of a six pack later.

Is it THIS cool?!
When I read a science publication, whether it’s printed or digital, and I see two of the most awesome and powerful words known to man placed together and used to describe an object, any object, I get all kinds of giddy with anticipation to see what sort of devastation such an object could unleash. Lawn ornaments are a rarity these days. I can honestly say that I have never seen a plastic flamingo or a garden gnome displayed on someone’s yard before. I don’t think I would have ever thought of putting one on display myself, until today. DeviantArt-ist Jaime Margary (AKA Kalapusa) created a bitchin’ lawn ornament of Super Mario Bros. baddie, Pirahna Pete out of modeling clay. This is definitely not the 8-bit rendition of the chomper as Pirahna Pete features some hideously wicked fangs and sickly textured skin. On top of that, Jaime also created a “baby” version of Pirahna Pete which he will be auctioning off on eBay. Hit the jump to see more images plus a info on how to make your own!

In light of Walt Disney Company’s acquisition of Marvel Entertainment, Worth100.com held a contest asking thier online community members to submit digital artwork of Marvel/Disney mash ups. Even though everyone was only given 48 hours to enter their creations, the art is some of the best I have seen featuring Marvel and Disney character hybrids! Great work to all the artists!
