Oh man. Somebody fucked up didn’t they? TheOneRing got their little Hobbit hands on some leaked preliminary box art for LEGO’s newly announced ‘Lord of the Rings’ LEGO play sets. From the looks of the grainy photos, I’m all all down for these awesome LEGO sets. I do wonder what size the Hobbit LEGOs will be compared to regular LEGO characters. Hopefully its to scale. Look out of these Lord of the Rings LEGOs to be available in your local toy stores in Summer 2012.

bacara00

If you collect ‘Star Wars’ toys like I do, you know that collecting all the different Stormtrooper and Clonetroopers becomes a bit tedious. Especially, when they all look a like. So it’s a breath of fresh air to finally add an unique piece to your collection that doesn’t look like the rest. Enter Sideshow Collectibles newest addition to their ever so popular line, Militaries of Star Wars, Commander Bacara!

Commander Bacara, also known by the numerical designation 1138, was a clone commander who worked alongside General Ki-Adi-Mundi against Separatist droid armies on the Outer Rim planet Mygeeto. Though he fought alongside the Jedi in numerous battles, Bacara’s ultimate loyalty was to the Republic and its Supreme Chancellor. When Palpatine contacted him personally and executed Order 66, Bacara carried out the command without question. He and his fellow Galactic Marines opened fire on Ki-Adi-Mundi, killing their general.

Probably sporting one of the most wicked helmet in the Clonetrooper collection, Bacara has that signature flare that characters like Commander Cody and Captain Rex has. Commander Bacara will be a great addition to any growing Star Wars toy collection! You can preorder one now for $134.99 and will release during the Spring of 2012!

This just might be the coolest handmade ‘Portal 2′ Wheatley puppet I have ever seen. Created by graphic designer, “TRP-Chan”, this awesome Wheatly puppet features lights and movement and the best part is that it can say ten different quotes!

I absolutely loved Portal 2 and as soon as I finished it I knew I had to build myself a Wheatley. Because Wheatley is the best thing ever. This guy’ll be a prop alongside a Chell costume I’ll be wearing.
He’s roughly life-sized at approximately 12 inches across (might be an inch or two short of Wheatley’s real diameter) and works as a puppet, using the hole in his back for access to his controls. His eyeplate and eyelids both move. He also plays 10 quotes from the game. His eye is lit up in some of the pictures there.. I really wish my camera could deal with the light better. You can actually see all the details when it’s lit up, but the camera just washes them all out.

Unfortunately, TRP-Chan will not be selling this puppet and also doesn’t have the time or part to make more to sell to other Portal fans. Shucks!

rinzler00

If you follow my Twitter or my blog, you know how much I turn into a little fan girl when it comes to ‘TRON: Legacy’. So after almost one year since the release of the film in theatres, Sideshow Collectibles and Quantum Creation FX is rolling out a 1:4 scale maquette statue of my favorite character from the film, Rinzler!

In partnership with Quantum Creation FX, Sideshow Collectibles is proud to present from ‘TRON: Legacy’ the Rinzler Maquette. Capturing the masked enforcer of The Grid, each piece is individually painted and finished, with its own unique quality and detail that is the trademark of a handcrafted Sideshow Collectibles product. Presented in approximately 1:4 Scale and featuring LED light-up suit, base, and identity disks, the Rinzler Maquette is the perfect addition to any collection.

Rinzler will be out in the first quarter of 2012 and will cost you a little over 300 bucks. Is that expensive? Yes. Is it worth it? Fuck yes. Now, please excuse me as I have to go and change my pants. I got a bit too excited.

Kotobukiya must have a good grasp on what geeks want and they delivered again with this cool Batman silicon tray. Last year, Kotobukiya released a pair of awesome Star Wars silicon trays so it makes sense that they would do this for some of their other licenses. I’m just glad it’s Batman.

Kotobukiya created a pop culture phenomenon this year with the Star Wars silicone trays featuring R2-D2 and Han Solo in Carbonite, and now that innovative kitchen product is joining forces with the iconic superheroes of the DC Comics universe! Out of the shadows of Gotham City comes the Batman Logo Silicone Tray! This sturdy tray lets you capture jelly, ice, chocolate, or cupcakes in the classic bat symbol shape of the Batman logo, perfect for making a treat for your family or spicing up a DC themed party. Great for baking and freezing, Bruce Wayne’s call sign is durable, heat and cold resistant, and oven and microwave safe. Each yellow tray has molds for four large Batman logos and three small ones, and it comes packaged in a vinyl poly bag with unique art. Use it along with the Superman logo silicone tray (sold separately) to add a “Brave and Bold” combination to meals and treats!

Considering Kotobukiya has been known for years for their incredible model kits and PVC statues, I find it odd to see them move into kitchen wares so much in the last two years, but I guess with cool stuff like this (and most likely Superman, yadda, yadda, yadda) coming out, I can’t really complain.

The Batman silicon ice tray will hit the streets in April 2012 and most likely will go for $9.99. They aren’t available yet, but expect your favorite online retailer to start taking preorders at the end of the month/October.

Collector’s Tip: There’s another Batman ice tray out on the market, but I recommend that you get Kotobukiya’s version. The other one isn’t as good and overpriced.

Awesome! Moleskine, who are known for creating “legendary notebooks” will be releasing new ‘Star Wars’ themed Moleskine notebooks. Available in plain and ruled paper, these notebooks will feature an awesome ‘Star Wars’ graphic including the iconic “text crawl” and “hyperdrive” graphics and metallic embossed logos. Each of these Moleskine journals will cost you $15-20 pending on the size and are available in Moleskine’s web store.

Also, to promote the new Star Wars collection, Moleskine created a cool stop-motion video featuring origami X-Wings and TIE fighters in the middle of a dogfight. Pretty bad ass in my opinion.
