Oh my goodness… This is brilliant and disturbing at the same time. If you weren’t aware, Hong Kong is the world leader in the manufacturing and sales of bootleg/knock off products. No product is safe as HK has made knock offs for stuff like designer bags, jewelry, clothing, electronics, and more. One of the items that HK especially loves to produce is knock off toys. Considering criminals make over 850+ billion dollars per year on trafficking fake goods, you would think they would have the sense to create better names for some of these counterfeit toys. During an investigation by Metro.co.uk, they uncovered couple gems such as a fake Robocop figure named “Robert Cop”, Spider-man action figures under the name “Spader-man”, and a very ridculous, but brilliant Batman action figure riding a horse called the “Silver Bat”. WTF!?!

China is the centre of the world’s counterfeiting industry and, despite frequent goverment crackdowns, fakes of all major designer brands are openly on sale in street markets.

A week ago, authorities in Xiamen destroyed more than 1million fake goods by driving a steamroller over them. Among them were items branded Apple, Sony, Gucci, Mercedes-Benz and Armani. And, quite possibly, Robert Cop.

From this report, I learned three simple things.

1. Spader-man is unmatched! I don’t believe Spider-man is…
2. Robert Cop was a trilogy. (I wonder if its available on Amazon…)
3. How and where can I get my hands on a Silver Bat figure?

Also, I really need to know… WTF is a “Spader-man”? huh?

The only words that come out of my mouth is.. AMAZING!!! Joey Ansah, Owen Trevor, and Streetlight Films found the perfect formula in making an ultra-bad ass Street Fight live action movie. Cut out the ridiculous dialogue, throw in amazing fight choreography, beautifully smooth cinematography, and kick out Jean-Claude Van Damme and Kristin Kreuk. The result is a bitchin’ mini-movie called Street Fighter Legacy. A three minute long fan-made movie that kicks you right in the mouth and makes you crave for more. Hollywood can really learn from what this crew created without a multi-million dollar budget.

‘Street Fighter-Legacy’ a Streetlight Films production, co-directed by Joey Ansah and Owen Trevor, produced by Jacqueline Quella and stars Jon Foo as Ryu and Christian Howard as Ken.

‘StreetFighter-Legacy’ a liveaction short film fan project, based on the popular Capcom gaming franchise: Street Fighter. Officially endorsed by Capcom

StreetFighter Legacy has been a labour of love and passion project for its creator, Joey Ansah, who not only conceived and pitched the project, but also co-directed, co-wrote and choreographed it, alongside cameo’ing in the film. Collaborating, creative partner and long time friend Christian Howard was part of the project from day one, co-writing the script and story elements, as well as further down the line, storyboarding the film, being assistant fight choreographer and most importantly playing Ken Masters.

Streetlight repped Australian Director Owen Trevor came onboard to co-direct the film. His experience and style carried forward from shooting on 3 series of the acclaimed ‘Top Gear’ have really been an asset to the project and given it a strong visual flair.

Hopefully, this won’t be the last Street Fighter movie from the Ansah/Trevor team. Brilliant job sirs!

3D is HHUUGGEEEE right now. With movie studios releasin’ a blitz of 3D movies and new 3D capable TVs hitting the stores, it was just a matter of time that magazines do the same. Men’s/adult magazine publisher, Playboy will be introducing their 2010 Playmate of the Year, lingerie model/Playmate Hope Dworaczyk in their first ever, 3D edition centerfold spread. The June issue hitting news stands today will come with a pair of 3D glasses (as shown above).

“What would people most like to see in 3-D?” asked Playboy founder Hugh Hefner. “Probably a naked lady.”

“In today’s print environment you have to create newsstand events,” said the editorial director of the Chicago-based magazine, Jimmy Jellinek.

Jellinek said he hopes the issue featuring centerfold Hope Dworaczyk in 3-D also reminds people that for all the infatuation with the Internet, there is nothing quite like having a magazine in your hands.

Will a 3D feature in Playboy garner interest and help raise sales? It is hard to tell. There are plenlty of 3D images online and considering sales and circulation of Playboy magazine have been on the decline for years due to the internet, it is interesting to see what may result in the novelty of readers seeing boobies in 3D. It’s a win-win situation for all in my opinion.

Hit the jump and get yourself acquainted with 2010’s Playmate of the Year, Ms. Hope Dworaczyk!

During a trip to England, blogger Emily AKA Meimi132 came upon a restaurant that featured a red lobster standing over 5 foot tall, but after careful inspection, Meimi132 noticed that this crustacean statue featured the ridiculously awesome designed theme of the Iron Man Mark III suit from the first movie. Apparently, around Cromer, England, there are over 80 of these lobsters all over town, each uniquely designed and painted. This is probably an attempt to add art and humor to the seaport city. Considering, you probably won’t be seeing Tony Stark in a Iron Lobster suit while fighting Namor, this Iron Lobster definitely is giving the me the cravings to yank out a hammer and warm up some butter. If an Iron Man Lobster isn’t bad ass enough, there is also an Avatar themed statue called Lobatar. ROFL!

This is most likely old news, but I’ve been out due to surgery so I’m just catchin’ up on all the Star Wars goodies. Unlike most Star Wars fanatics like myself, instead of just owning a replica Stormtrooper helment, Brian Rood designed/customized a Stormtrooper helmet with a steampunk twist. Everything from cogs to random rivets and bolts are exposed in this insane custom. This isn’t Brian’s first attempt at steampunkin’ Star Wars helmets. His steampunktrooper helmets has created quite the buzz in the Star Wars community and even though many have offered to purchase Brian’s creations, they aren’t for sale. However, don’t think your dream of getting your own helmet is impossible. Brian is planning to create and sell his wicked creations in the near future. The steam punk stormtrooper helmet above was created specifically for TK Project, which is a charity event held by the 501st Legion for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Stormtroopers are such a generous bunch of fellas!
