When it was recently announced that Merida from Disney Pixar‘s Brave was going to be the eleventh Disney Princess, fans of both Brave and Disney Princesses were pretty thrilled. Considering Merida is not your typical “Disney Princess”, a lot of girls have looked up to Merida as a strong, confident, and brave role model. Unfortunately, those same fans weren’t too thrilled when Disney revealed Merida’s Disney Princess make-over featuring a slimmer body, wide eyes, and neater hair. Also, Merida’s trusty bow is no where to be found in the new design. All the “imperfect” elements and unique visual characteristics of Merida’s character design was stripped away for a design that was more similar to the other Disney Princesses. Now, A Mighty Girl (an empowerment site for girls) has put up a petition on directed to chairman and CEO, Bob Iger and the Walt Disney Company board of executives in protest of the makeover.

Merida was the princess that countless girls and their parents were waiting for — a strong, confident, self-rescuing princess ready to set off on her next adventure with her bow at the ready. She was a princess who looked like a real girl, complete with the ‘imperfections’ that all people have.

Since the petition started, over 100,000 fans have signed the petition. Hopefully Walt Disney Company is listening. You can add your name to the growing list at “Disney: Say No to the Merida Makeover, Keep Our Hero Brave!

You can check out Merida’s coronation ceremony at Inside The Magic.

We’re not a team, we’re a time bomb… ticking down to a wardrobe disaster. (by Karina F.)

What happens when you take a mad genius like Caleb Kraft of Hackaday with an idea to create a functional replica of Thor’s hammer, Mjölnir using a mini-Tesla coil and foam? Well, you get 80,000 volts worth of fun! That’s what! It’s pretty hilarious how huge Hackaday’s Mjölnir replica is. It’s definitely not made to scale, but it’s epic none the less.

You may also know that I have a soft spot for Jessica Rabbit and Who Framed Roger Rabbit?, So when I saw this stunning Jessica Rabbit cosplay by fashion designer and model, Kay Pike, how could I share it with you all. Please enjoy with your eyes only.

Our most favoritest dude in the world, Nathan Fillion, just doing his thing. Killin’ heroes and taking their women.

As the song says, it’s pretty obvious Michael Bay just doesn’t give a shit. He doesn’t care what we think. He doesn’t care about the source material. He doesn’t care that he’s pretty much stomping and shitting on everything we hold dear from our childhood. It’s pretty obvious once we saw that Devastator had metal testicles in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Well, now Bay and Jonathan Liebesman is tackling another one of our beloved cartoons. Until the movie comes out, I’m not going to comment on how shitty Michael Bay’s reboot of Teenage Mutant Alien Mutant Ninja Turtles is going to be… I’ll let College Humor do it for me.
