“I bring you to a paradise planet two billion light years from Earth and you want to update Twitter.”

Hilarious. If you checked out last weekend’s newest episode of ‘Doctor Who’, titled “The Girl Who Waited”, you would a kick out of this picture by PTCHEW. I would love to follow Amy Pond on Twitter. That would be pretty bad ass in my opinion. Can you image the tweets coming from her account while she travels with the Doctor? That was make for an entertaining read.

I don’t know whether I should be happy as hell or scared shit-less after checking out artist/sculptor, Ray Lin’s (@artanisone) mind blowing collection of realistic sculptures based on the popular characters of ‘Futurama’. Ray threw out the signature animated style from the series that we’ve come to love and reimagined the crew of Planet Express with a twist of realism. One of the best pieces from the collection has to be Professor Farnsworth. Maybe it’s the glasses or his facial expressions that makes him seem as looney and insane as he does in the series. I would have to say that Leela kind of scares the crap out of me and Dr. Zoidberg looks like a real bad ass. Ray is continuing his awesome collection of work with Zap Brannigan, Kif Kroker and more which are all works in progress. I am definitely lookin’ forward to seeing those and Bender! Continue the great work Ray!

What if… What if there is a church that worships the heroes of comic books? I can tell you that I would go ever damn Sunday and never miss a single mass. At the moment, there is not “Church of the Bat” or “Church of X”, but we might just have an idea of what it might be like inside such a church. Etsy seller, FayProduction offers a very cool decal print of various characters from Batman and X-Men designed to imitate stained glass. You can get some of these magnificent prints and stick it on your window to make instant stained glass murals. I think my favorite of the bunch has to be Alfred. I would love to attend the “Church of Pennyworth”. You can pick up these cool prints at FayProduction’s Etsy store!

We all had world history at one time or another while going to school. I have fond memories of learning about the various wars throughout history in class. I remember looking at hundreds of photos from different wars such as World War II and imagine what it might have been like if I was there. Well, what if the different factions of ‘Star Wars’ participated in various wars throughout history? Can you imagine seeing Imperial AT-AT walkers fighting alongside infantry units and tanks and seeing TIE fighters soar through the sky chasing down spitfire fighter planes? Now, that would have made class much more interesting.

It’s truly tragic when beautiful comic art never gets the treatment it deserves. In this case, print. Currently, artists Amy Reeder and J.H. William III are sharing the load on doing the interior pages for ‘Batwoman’. While each artist will take turn drawing each issue, the other will provide a variant cover. Variant covers are some of my favorite to collect and it is great incentive for comic collectors and retailers to sell more. Sadly, Amy Reeder has announced that DC Comics has decided to scrap the variant cover idea.

So, I’d done four of the five variants, when I had found out that DC decided not to publish any variant covers on Batwoman.
I have told many fans to keep an eye out for these variants and I apologize for getting your hopes up! No word yet on whether they will ever see print. I’ve tried to ask about printing them on the interior of their respective Batwoman issues, but haven’t heard anything yet.
No definitive word, either, on whether they will let me do covers for my arc. Or give me another cover gig. For now I’m still working on Batwoman interiors, and that’ll start February of next year.

Unfortunately, these amazing variant covers were penciled, inked, and colored by Amy Reed and they will never see the shelves of a comic book store. Until we get an update from DC Comics and Amy Reeder on the fate of these brilliant cover art, we can only enjoy them online.

Sometimes, the fans are better at making movie posters than the studios. Not saying that the posters for ‘The Dark Knight’ weren’t brilliant, but I find these fan-made movie posters by Bulgarian artist, Alexander Stojanov to be divine! Inspired by Drew Struzan’s poster for ‘Blade Runner’ (who also made posters for ‘Indiana Jones’, ‘Back to the Future’ and ‘Star Wars’), Alexander put together three amazing illustrations for ‘Batman Begins’, ‘The Dark Knight’, and ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ using Painter X and Photoshop. These would be pretty bad ass to see hanging in a theatre. Awesome job Alexander!
