This is so damn random, it’s giving me a headache… but a good kind. Cardboard crafter extraordinaire, TK615 put together a very odd nativity scene for Christmas. Instead of getting some crummy plastic statues from WalMart, TK615 (I really wish I knew your real name buddy…) took a pile of cardboard, some hot glue and put together this pretty rad Robot themed nativity scene.
I made this using nothing but cardboard, hot glue, and OCD. 2 days no sleep…. (cut, glue, burn,… repeat)…. there is no templates, it’s all free hand…. lot of circles, trial and error…. measure twice cut once…..
I used to work with a lot of cardboard during my set build/painting days and that shit is no joke. For him (or her) to complete this whole 3D robot scene in just two days is mind-boggling. The scene includes Clank (Ratchet and Clank), Crow T. Robot (Mystery Science Theater 3000), and Bender (Futurama… but I didn’t have to tell you that right?) as the three magi, Johnny Number Five from ‘Short Circuit’ as Joseph, Rosie from the ‘Jetsons’ as the Virgin Mary, and representing the shepherd and his flock, WALL-E and an Imperial AT-AT from ‘Star Wars’. The robot representing “Baby Jesus”… I have no fuckin’ clue. Too bad it wasn’t R2-D2. I love how Johnny Five is staring down at the baby while Rosie is too busy being worried whether J5 will notice that he wasn’t the one that install the baby in her. Ratchet must know whats up cause he pointing and laughing at the fool.

Jessica Rabbit. Slave Leia. Jessica Rabbit AS Slave Leia. Bazoombas. I like it! Greek illustrator, Dimitris Samaras (AKA JimSam-X) did men (and woman) all over the world a great service by taking the voluptuous Jessica Rabbit from ‘Who Framed Roger Rabbit?’ and dropping her into the iconic “Slave Leia” outfit from ‘Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi’. It looks like Slave Jessica is depicted singing to Jabba the Hutt on his barge or at the “Ink and Paint Club”. I guess that really doesn’t matter cause it’s JESSICA RABBIT AS SLAVE LEIA! Bazoombas.

A while back, graphic designer Joe Smith put together a pretty impressive infographic of the ‘X-Men’ universe. Everything from marital status, enemies, and even clones were put together on one simple “follow the line” family tree. Well, Joe’s follow is pretty amazing as well. Following the same idea, Joe applies his family tree design to the ‘Fantastic Four’. I love how the Yancy Street sign (representing the Yancy Street Gang) leads to “The Thing” as a nemesis. I think it is even more funnier that “The Human Torch” finds himself with a slash through his face due to his death in Fantastic Four #587. Knowing Marvel, I’m pretty sure that mark of death is just temporary. Good gawd, Galactus has a huge head in this chart!

When you hit comic conventions around the world, one common thing is the hordes of cosplayers dressed up as their favorite comic, movie, video game, etc. characters. Well, Quezon City native photographer and self-proclaimed fan, Jay Tablante (@jaytablante) brings these cosplays to life in his special series of photographs. Unlike many people who just snap random shots at the show, Jay takes it to the next level and puts these amazing cosplays in a themed settings that really compliments the character. With a little special effects and graphic design magic, Jay makes these more than just the standard cosplay. These cosplayers actually become the characters that they want to portray. His love and dedication towards his love of superheroes from his youth is the driving force behind his work. I’m hoping that Jay continues on and shares his works for many years to come. You can follow his work at his site jaytablantephotography.com

This is something I can look at all day. Designed by Russian graphic designer, Mikhail Smolyanov of Solifague Design, this steampunk style chopper named “The Black Widow” will most likely not see the streets anytime soon, but Mikhail’s design is so amazing and realistic that many custom motorcycle sites has featured this chopper thinking it was real. This beautifully designed low-riding chopper has all the bells and whistles that scream steampunk. What I really love is the bent back forks leading back to the handles and the single swing arm in the back. Considering that “steampunk” has become very popular in the world of illustration and cosplay, it is pretty awesome to see someone take that concept and run (or ride) with it. This stretched out chopper would look mean if you say it roaring down the street. Too bad its only a concept and will (most likely) be never made.

You clever and annoying bastards! I’m pretty annoyed when I run into infographics created by random companies (in this case, carinsurance.org) to trap random people into checking out their site and services. Well, unfortunately, some of these are pretty neat and this is the case with this inforgraphic. Titled, “The Evolution of the Batmobile” this visual infographic showcases ever variant of the Dark Knight’s ride from 1941 to the present. Every Batmobile from the comic, tv series, movies, etc. is featured. I’m not an expert on Batman vehicles so I am not sure how accurate this infographic is (I don’t even recognize some of these things…), but I do congratulate carinsurance.org for suckering me into visiting their site (only so that I can save the image). The things I do for Batman. Sheesh.

Yeah, so something like this should really got into my tumbr site (Kicking Ewoks for Fun!), but I thought this was pretty amazing and deserved its own post on iGT. Swedish 3D graphic artist/modeler, Richard Wikström created this pretty amazing 3D model of the body-less baddie Krang from ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’. The reason I love this image so much is the amount of detail and texture Richard put into this pretty simple character. It’s just a brain dude with tentacles and a face right? Maybe not… What was really awesome was that when I first laid my eyes on this picture, I thought it was for a toy or a statue. After a long search, my mind was blown when I found out that it was only a 3D graphic model. You knew people can do such amazing things with a computer! LMAO!
