Oh what the hell… On Friday, Variety reported that actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt was signed to join Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ to play the villainous Alberto Falcone AKA “The Holiday Killer”. Well, now EW is reporting that the news was false and JGL is NOT Alberto Falcone.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt, long-rumored to be joining his Inception brethren in The Dark Knight Rises, will appear in director Christopher Nolan’s third Batman film. But a source close to the situation says that recent reports that Gordon-Levitt will play Alberto Falcone (a.k.a. the Holiday Killer) — the son of former mob kingpin, Carmine Falcone (Tom Wilkinson) — are incorrect. So, Batman fans: Begin the re-speculation now!

I’m a bit torn considering Variety and EW are both highly respectable new sites for movies. Now that there is conflicting news regarding who JGL is playing in TDKR, I guess we have to wait for official word from Warner Bros. about who JGL will play. I just might slap myself if I have to look up more images to make another JGL/Alberto Falcone graphic. /facepalm

As of right now, I’m putting this as a rumor and my money goes to Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Dick Grayson AKA Robin/Nightwing. I know the ladies would love to see Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s Dick in The Dark Knight Rises. wa wa wa waaaa…

albertofalcone

Hurray! There is no need to speculate about Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s involvement in Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Dark Knight Rises’! Variety has confirmed that JGL will be playing Alberto Falcone, who is the youngest son of Carmine Falcone, who was played by Tom Wilkinson in ‘Batman Begins’. Alberto was also known as “The Holiday Killer” in ‘Batman: The Long Halloween’.

Born to Gotham City crime lord Carmine Falcone and his wife Louisa on February 14, Alberto Falcone was an outcast in his family of mobsters, a nonexistent part of the family business. His father supported his older siblings Mario and Sofia Gigante involvement in the “business” which created a pathological jealousy. He fought his way up on a scholarship to Harvard University and later went onto Oxford. Alberto Falcone was always eager to follow his father’s footsteps and offered his service, but Carmine Falcone refused to let his son get involved in his “business,” apparently wishing for Alberto Falcone to live a normal life. It is suggested that, contrary to Carmine’s open feelings, Alberto may have truly been his favorite child. However, Alberto Falcone had other plans. (via wiki)

As of right now, only Christopher Nolan has any clue on what kind of role Alberto will play in his final chapter of Nolan’s Batman series. There is only speculation whether Alberto will remain as a regular “mobster” criminal element in the story or something bigger as Holiday. Will Joseph-Gordon Levitt play an Alberto Falcone character that is trying to gain a foot hold in his father’s fallen empire and get payback on Batman or will he be a brutal serial murderer obsessed with the holidays? It is already difficult to tell where this story will go with the addition of Selina Kyle (Anne Hathaway) and Bane (Tom Hardy) so we will just have to wait and see. Also, with the announcement of JGL as Alberto Falcone, actress Juno Temple (Cracks, Kaboom) also has been sign on to play a “street smart Gotham-girl”. Could this be Spoiler perhaps?

“The Dark Knight Rises” is scheduled for release on July 20, 2012

kateunderworld

Oooooo… Kate Beckinsale is back to reprise her role as Selene in the fourth installment in the horror/action hybrid ‘Underworld’ series, ‘Underworld: New Dawn’. Now, at the age of 37 and after skipping out on the third movie, ‘Underworld: Rise of the Lycans’ (which was a hot mess), Kate is as stunning as ever in skin-tight latex body suit and a grey pea coat. The photo above (the first with Kate as Selene) was take in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada where the movie is shooting. You all know how much iGT adores Kate Beckinsale, so its a “no brainer” than we would feature any picture of Kate in some latex. For curious Underworld fans, below is the plot for New Dawn:

After being held in a coma-like state for fifteen years, vampire Selene (Kate Beckinsale) learns that she has a fourteen-year-old vampire/Lycan hybrid daughter, Nissa, and when she finds her they must stop BioCom from creating super Lycans that will kill them all.

BioCom sounds a lot like “The Umbrella Corporation”. Go figure. There no word on the return of Scott Speedman as Michael, but Michael Sheen (Lucian) and Bill Nighy (Viktor) is set to return and actor Michael Ealy (For Colored Girls, FlashForward) will be playing  the lead male role as an FBI agent that is hunting Selene, who later becomes her ally. The team behind, ‘Shelter’, Måns Mårlind and Björn Stein are directing.

‘Underworld: New Dawn’ opens on January 20th, 2012

Geez. This is pretty insane. At “Eden” in Kaohsiung City, Taiwan you can spend some “alone time” with your lady friend (or guy friend) in style. Within the 46 room motel, there is a room decorated in Batman decor! Everything from a bed sporting a cushy Batman logo to Batman logo etched mirrors, and even a couch decked out to look like the “Tumbler” from ‘Batman Begins’ and ‘The Dark Knight’. To stay in the tacky, but luxurious room, it will cost you around $50 for three hours. Now, you might ask why its rented out in hourly segment. Well, if you weren’t aware, like many motels in Asia, this room is more made for “erotic activities” than sleeping. For those that pick up a stranger at a bar and need a place to “get down and dirty”, Eden’s Batman room is the place to go. With the room, Eden also supplies you with lubrication, sexy lingerie and other perks for an extra fee of course. Yikes!

This is one of the reasons I was laughing so hard when people on Twitter were saying that they would love to stay there. I wouldn’t sit anywhere in this room without paper towels to put down for protection. Thats just how I roll.

I guess today is a great day for Daredevil fans everywhere. Coming off the directorial duties for ‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’ (which made over $700 million worldwide), director David Slade (@david_a_slade) (30 Days and Nights) has been signed by 20th Century Fox to direct a reboot for ‘Daredevil’. Slade who was rumored to be attached to ‘Wolverine’ got the bump from director Darren Aronofsky, and out of the blue is now with Daredevil. It was pretty quiet on the Hollywood front regarding a reboot for the Daredevil series and the last we heard (early last years), was that writer David Scarpa (The Last Castle) was hired on to write a script. We haven’t seen any news since than and now with the signing of Slade, it looks like 20th Century Fox is fast tracking the project. However, fans do not have to worry as it was announced that while the Daredevil movie will be a continuation and not an origin story, Ben Affleck is not attached to the project (SCORE!). Fans will have to wait for a while as Daredevil is only in development stages and Slade’s new project is Phoenix Picture’s period horror film, ‘The Last Voyage of the Demeter’ starring Ben Kingsley and Noomi Rapace.

IGN has announced that Jagex Game Studio and Hasbro has hooked up to produce a massively multiplayer online game (AKA MMO) for ‘Transformers’. Based on the press release, “iconic Autobots and Decepticons set to battle online in 2012″, Jagex and Hasbro looks to be rushing this game out for next year. I am not sure how well that is going to work out considering MMO can take years to perfect. At the same time, Jagex is known for browser based games, so this might not be a huge MMO that we come to love like ‘World of Warcraft’. This might be nothing more than ‘Farmville’ with Transformers. I’m not sure how appealing it would be to have a Transformers MMO browser based game. It would be too simple and I doubt the action would be that spectacular in-game. I guess, we will have to just wait and see what it is.

Tip: As the title suggests, if you do end up playing this game and Arcee winks at you and throws out a bunch of emotes, its probably some guy.

If you have been following my Twitter or my blog over the last year, you know how crazy I got when it came to ‘TRON: Legacy’ news. I was like a little school girl at an Justin Bieber concert. Well, I thought it was over and behind me when I saw it on opening day (which I loved), but I was wrong. TRON: Legacy is suppose to release on DVD and Blu-Ray on April 5th and it is suppose to feature an array of cool bonuses. Well, one of these features leaked online and the net is rampant with rumors. Titled, ‘TRON: The Next Day’, it is a ten minute short that bridges the gap between ‘TRON’ and TRON: Legacy as well as insight on what happens after Sam Flynn returns from “The GRID”. Considering Legacy racked in near $400 million worldwide (not much if you consider the movie cost $170 million to make and rumored that Disney spent over $150 million in marketing), it was safe to consider that a sequel to Legacy might be on the table. Even though the movie didn’t make a large amount of money in the theatre, if you considered merchandise sales, theme park attractions, etc. Disney still made a lot of dough on this movie. With the leak of TRON: The Next Day, is it possible that this is more than a feature on the DVD/Blu-Ray, but actually a teaser at TR3N? What do you think? I certainly hope so.
