X-Men: Days of the Future Past director, Bryan Singer tweeted our first look at the lovely, Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique. I have to admit that while I wasn’t on board with the original look in X-Men: First Class, I am in awe of how beautiful Mystique looks in DOTFP. This look is much more refined than in First Class and is better at bridging the gap from First Class to Rebecca Romjin’s Mystique. Also, it didn’t hurt that Jennifer Lawrence is drop-dead gorgeous like Rebecca Romjin.

X-Men: Days of the Future Past drops on July 18, 2014

HUZZZZAAAAAHHHHHH!!! The world was shocked when it was announced that Star Wars: The Clone Wars will be canceled after next season. Well, now there is something to rejoice as Dave Filoni has announced that a new series is currently in development called, Star Wars Rebels! Star Wars Rebel will premiere in 2014 as an one hour special on Disney Channel and then move into DisneyXD as a regular series.

The series is described as set in the time between Episode III and Episode IV. The “Rebels” are in uprising as they take on the newly founded, Galactic Empire. The thing that really got me excited has to be the description of the new animated style of the series. They will go away from the unique look of the Clone Wars and move to a style that is a nod to the original Star Wars concept art done by Ralph McQuarrie. That is very exciting. There is always word that some characters that were loved in The Clone Wars may make their way to Rebels like Ashoka Tano. Hopefully, Rebels will reveal the faith of some of our favorite characters post-Order 66.

Simon Kinberg and Greg Weisman joins Dave Filoni as executive producers. Star Wars Rebels drops in 2014.

The Eleventh Doctor (Matt Smith) and the Tenth Doctor (David Tennant) takes a moment to talk a little about the onscreen chemistry between the two Doctors in the 50th anniversary Doctor Who special. It’s pretty obvious that Smith and Tennant definitely has some amazing chemistry together and I can’t wait to see them in the special!

Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Special drops on November 23, 2013!

Oh man… Jeremy Renner might be joining Terrance Howard and Edward Norton in the “Booted from the Marvel Cinematic Universe” club. Currently, there is a lot of things in the works in Phase Two and Three in Marvel Studio‘s master plan, but currently, Hawkeye is not on any of those projects. Every character in The Avengers has moved onto other films, but Renner seems to be the odd man out. Maybe it has something to do with Renner’s recent interview with Los Angeles Times Hero Complex where he addressed with disappointment in playing the role of Hawkeye.

At the end of the day, 90% of the movie, I’m not the character I signed on to play. I’m literally in there for two minutes, and then all of a sudden… All I could really work on was the physical part of it all, because that didn’t change. That was just the biggest challenge to overcome in playing the guy. Also, we’re pretty much introducing a new superhero character to everyone in a movie where there’s a thousand superheroes. So there’s not a lot of back story or understanding we can really tell about who Clint Barton is, or Hawkeye, and is he working for SHIELD or not. There’s a lot of unanswered questions, even for me. And I was OK with that. At least I was still in the movie. And I was glad for that.

Now, CBM has revealed (based on an unnamed source) that Marvel Studios wasn’t too keen on Renner’s comments and this has created rumors that Marvel Studios is looking to boot Renner and recast the role of Hawkeye. Personally, I don’t put too much into these types of rumors and Renner’s comments seems to be blown out of proportion. With the latest news of the possible addition of Black Panther in the MCU and the confirmation of the addition of Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver to the Avengers line-up, it is likely that some of the original Avengers will not return. I doubt Joss Whedon and Marvel Studios has any intentions on just adding to the team until it balloons out of control. Just like in the comics, members of the team do rotate in and out of the line up. I don’t think Renner’s future at Marvel Studios is in jeopardy, but I am very surprised that actors still put themselves into situations like this considering Marvel Studios history has proven that it is unwise. Even with Renner’s disappointment in Hawkeye, he has become a cinematic and comic cultural icon and is recognized in all corners of the globe. That is something money can’t buy. If there is any truth to this rumor, I would hope that Marvel Studios will drop Hawkeye from the MCU and recast the character for television on Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.. That show’s line up could use a character like “The Hawk”.

OMG… This robot has breasts…

I guess if you’re interested in pissin’ off Guillermo del Toro, Warner Bros., and Legendary Pictures, this is probably the best way to do it. The scum of mockbusters, The Asylum is back with a total rip-off of Pacific Rim called Atlantic Rim (REALLY?!) by director Jared Cohen, who is responsible for groundbreaking films such as Underground Lizard People and Bikini Spring Break. It’s pretty much a sorry bootleg that will never grace the big screen. Check out the silly CGI and lens flares. It really makes no sense at all. Everyone associated with this film should be ashamed. I bet Syfy would have done a better job that this…

Usually, this is where I tell you when the film will release, but I won’t. However, I will tell you that Pacific Rim opens on July 12, 2013.

MORE BOUNTY HUNTERS! MORE CANNON FODDER! MORE ALIENS! MORE RIIIDDDDIIIICCCCCKKKKKK! Riddick, the last installment in the “Riddick Saga” (Pitch Black 2000, Chronicles of Riddick 2004), just dropped their first full trailer and I have to say that it looks fucking awesome!

The latest chapter of the groundbreaking saga that began with 2000′s hit sci-fi film Pitch Black and 2004′s The Chronicles of Riddick reunites writer/director David Twohy (A Perfect Getaway, The Fugitive) and star Vin Diesel (the Fast and Furious franchise, xXx). Diesel reprises his role as the antihero Riddick, a dangerous, escaped convict wanted by every bounty hunter in the known galaxy.

The infamous Riddick has been left for dead on a sun-scorched planet that appears to be lifeless. Soon, however, he finds himself fighting for survival against alien predators more lethal than any human he’s encountered. The only way off is for Riddick to activate an emergency beacon and alert mercenaries who rapidly descend to the planet in search of their bounty.

The first ship to arrive carries a new breed of merc, more lethal and violent, while the second is captained by a man whose pursuit of Riddick is more personal. With time running out and a storm on the horizon that no one could survive, his hunters won’t leave the planet without Riddick’s head as their trophy.

Riddick stars Vin Diesel, Karl Urban, Jordi Molla, Matt Nable, Katee Sackoff, Bokeem Woodbine, Dave Bautista, and Keri Hilson. I’m very curious about the fate of Riddick after becoming the leader of the Nercromongers at the end of Chronicles of Riddick.

Riddick drops on September 6, 2013.
