You’ve seen art like this before. Think on the various websites, television shows and tangible media that all share a common visual theme: using colors to create smooth, curved borders and textures in various objects create the illusion of two-dimensional layers spread across different Z-axes. Think Flapjack, for instance. What you haven’t seen is Camilo’s personal touch and application of the style!
Camilo Bejarano is an artist, designer and illustrator currently living and working in Brooklyn, New York. He has over 6 years of experience in design and illustration work and has worked on a wide variety of projects from web and interactive design to illustration and other more artistic endeavors.
I was born and raised in Bogota, Colombia, and at age 16 moved to Boca Raton, Florida. Shortly after college, I began my professional career when forming Abt’s, an award-winning Screen Printing and Design studio. At abt’s, I directed a wide range of projects including corporate branding, print, web and apparel designs. While directing Abt’s, I began various other projects, including Motusgear, a scuba diving inspired apparel company, and a Hurricane relief organization, which assisted in part to Florida’s Hurricane Relief Fund. FHRF provides relief assistance to victims of hurricanes Frances and Katrina.
In early 2008, I moved to New York City to gain new and different experiences. I worked as a graphic designer for About.com/New York Times Company where I took part in designing and creating big brand ad and interactive web products, for little over a year. Also, I have been privileged enough to have worked for projects that have appeared in New York Magazine, Ad Age, The New York Times, Weekly Dig, Revista Colectiva and others.
Now I am working freelance and available to work on your project.
Head to Ph7labs to check out Camilo’s impressive portfolio of projects, design and art. You can also catch him on flickr, imagekind, vimeo and google.
