During my random traverses through the interwebosphere, I find some pretty neat, weird, awesome, and otherwise unusual things. I often attempt to share these discoveries with people, to help spread the word about something crazy awesome, so please accept today’s submission concerning what shall become, as of today, my newest purchase direct from Japan, this book, An Anatomical Guide to Monsters, 1967.
HuntingLodge.no (the website I first found out about this book on) says that this book was written by Shoji Otomo and illustrated by Shogo Endo. The only names that I can find related to the book, however, are Tsuburaya Productions and Ootomo Masashi. From the previously linked Wikipedia article:
Tsuburaya Productions (円谷プロダクション Tsuburaya Purodakushon?) is a Japanese special effects studio founded in 1963 by special effectswizard Eiji Tsuburaya and was run by his family, until October 2007, when the family sold the company to advertising agency TYO Inc. The studio is best known for producing the original Ultraman TV series, as well as the Ultra Series. Since 2007, the Head Office has been located inHachimanyama, Setagaya, Tokyo.
Yes, that is the caliber of awesome you are faced with, here, today. Now, take as deep a breath as possible because you’re about to be a part of a Guinness World Record level event of epic squee as you and countless other readers fight for breath gazing upon the following images.

The following images come from the Flickr page of modern_fred and since they were linked into several articles concerning this book, I can only assume they have absolutely everything to do with it. And, fyi, by the same logic, Jerry from the Sears commercial must be in charge of everything football because I saw him selling a tv to Brett Favre.

I adore Gamera, wish there was an anatomy one for Gamera
Oh, they would be crazy awesome on t-shirts, I’m sure. Unfortunately, I assume anyone making them would require permission from Tsuburaya, since it’s still around. I’m sure there is a page for Gamera, but I won’t be able to know for sure until I buy one for myself!
